PROJECT 1:
TITLE: MICROCONTROLLER BASED IC TESTER
KEY TOOLS: MICROCONTROLLER PROGRAM, LED DISPLAY
DESCRIPTION: This was the project that we undertook in 3rd
year of Diploma, An integrated circuit tester is used
to test integrated circuits. We can easily test any IC using this kind of an IC tester.
For testing an IC, we need to use different hardware circuits for different IC’s, like we need a particular kind of
tester for logic gates and testing flip-flop or timers, op-amp’s which involves more complication and time involved
will be more. So here’s an IC tester to overcome this problem. Unlike other IC tester this is more reliable and
easier since we don’t need to rig up different kind of circuits for different kind of IC’s, each time we need to test
them.
Unlike the IC tester available in the market today which is usually expensive, this IC tester is affordable and user
friendly. This IC tester is constructed using AVR microcontroller along with a buttons and display unit. It can test
IC’s having maximum 24 pins. This IC tester can be used to test wide variety of IC’s which includes simple logic
gates, 555 timer, op-amp, JK flip-flop. It is portable and easy to use.
PROJECT 2:
TITLE: PHOTOVOLTAIC BASED HIGH EFFICIENCY SINGLE INPUT-MULTIPLE OUTPUT BOOST DC-DC
CONVERTER
KEY TOOLS: MATLAB SOFTWARE, PHOTOVOLTAIC PANEL, BOOSTDC-DC CONVERTER
DESCRIPTION: We have done this project in final year of engineering. This is SIMULINK based project we were
used MATLAB software for this work. In this we used photovoltaic panel for supply input to the DC-DC boost
converter. In this PV panel solar cells are connected in series because each solar cell generates only 0.6v to 0.8v,
this voltage is not enough to given supply as input hence cells are connected in series here voltages are added with
same current. The aim of this project is to develop a high-efficiency single-input multiple-output boost dc– dc
converter. The proposed converter can boost the voltage of a low-voltage input power source to a controllable
high-voltage dc bus and middle-voltage output terminals. The high-voltage dc bus can take as the main power for
a high-voltage dc load or the front terminal of a dc–ac inverter. Moreover, middle-voltage output terminals can
supply powers for individual middle-voltage dc loads or for charging auxiliary power sources. In this project, a
coupled-inductor based dc–dc converter scheme utilizes only one power switch with the properties of voltage
clamping and soft switching, and the corresponding device specifications are adequately designed. As a result, the
objectives of high-efficiency power conversion, high step up ratio, and various output voltages with different levels
can be obtained.
