ACCODAMIC PROJECT
ProjectName: Energy Harvesting using Piezoelectric Material
Projects Description:
In this work we are using piezoelectric material and this is connected to the boost converter which
is also called DC-DC converter which is used to convert variable DC to fixed DC and also shows output
voltage magnitude. The boost converter is connecter to PIC microcontroller to control the charging and
discharging of the battery whenever we place our foot on piezoelectric transducer.
The PIC microcontroller is connected to LCD display which consists of analog –to-digital converter to
converter analog input voltage to digital output magnitude and LCD display indicates charging of a
battery digitally and it is connected to battery. The battery is used to store charge of 12V and is connected
to DC loads. The battery is connected to inverter which converts DC to AC of required voltage and
frequency then it is given to the loads.
In recent years, several attempts at the macro-scale application of the piezoelectric technology have
emerged to harvest kinetic energy from walking pedestrians
