2. Since and For
We often use SINCE and FOR in sentences when we’re
talking about TIME.
SINCE can be used about time in present perfect
sentences.
FOR can be used about time with all tenses.
3. Since
We use SINCE when we are talking about a specific
time; an action that began at specific time, or an action
that ended at a specific time, or at specific point in
time.
Examples
‘I haved lived in Benguela since October 2010’.
‘She has been abroad since last Tuesday’.
4. For
We use FOR when we are talking about a period of
time or a duration of time; an action that has been
happening for a length of time.
Examples
‘I haved lived in Benguela for fiver years’.
‘She has been abroad for a week’.
