2. Types of Benefits
In general, there are two types of benefits or, we
can say, incentives provided by the organizations
to their employees.
1. Monetary Benefits
2. Non-monetary Benefits
3. Monetary Benefits
• Monetary benefits are those benefits that
are paid in monetary terms, i.e. Money.
• For example: Cash bonus on outstanding
performance or on festivals
4. Non-Monetary Benefits
• Non-monetary benefits are benefits you
receive that does not involve money.
• For example: Special parking space, or
challenging job
5. Preferred by Employees
• Employees with higher positions prefer non
monetary whereas employees with lower job
profiles prefer monetary benefits.
• Non-Monetary benefits include coveted parking
spaces, retirement plan, housing facilities,
cabins etc.
• Monetary benefits for lower level employees can
be allowances, bonus, commission, perks, etc.
6. Preferred by Organization
• Organizations prefer to fetch out non monetary
benefits as they don't want to loose funds on
these as it thinks benefits as expense.
• Also giving monetary benefits give employees
satisfaction for a shorter term compared to non-
monetary.
