• The LGBT Rainbow Flag - designed by Gilbert
Baker in 1978 become the most famous of
the rainbow flags. It is now one of the most
recognized symbols in the world.
• It is used to symbolize solidarity with LGBT
movements.

3. Why RAINBOW Color?
• According to Baker, the rainbow is so perfect
because it really fits our diversity in terms of
race, gender, ages, all of those things.
• The flag has changed over the years. The
contemporary version has six colors, but the
original had eight. Each color had its own
symbolic meaning.

for persons who are male and female

queer/questioning, and others;
