Scope: Provide electrical, instrumentation & telecommunication services to SASOL
Location: Sasolburg, South Africa
Responsibilities:
• Ensure health and safety in all areas and specifications of work in progress (in office
and on site).
• Ensure Contractors safety files are to specification are implemented.
• Ensuring compliance with process permit protocol.
• Monitoring appointed Gas detectors to ensure Vessels and confined spaces are free
of applicable gases before hot work commences.
• Ensure site inductions and other training is done and records are kept accordingly.
• Implement behavioural based safety (BBS) and compile reports which are submitted
to the client (SASOL) weekly.
• Over seeing permit acceptance of permits generated by process control before work
commences.
• Undertake risk assessments and ensure subcontractor risk assessments are
completed communicated and followed through.
• Undertake site inspections to ensure projects are being completed as per regulation
and client specifications.
• Monitoring Standbys to ensure competence.
• Auditing of company’s 18001 system and compile reports as a result of audit findings.
• Assist with daily toolbox talks and hazard identification & risk assessments.
• Undertake legal compliance audits.
• Ensure HSE management system is adhered to and maintained & updated.
• Arranging plant specific inductions.
• Coordinate SHE related training.
• Present safety training to employees.
• Investigate incidents/accidents, report and implement additional procedural controls to
eliminate risk of re occurrence
• Compile Environmental monitoring plans
• Assist in the undertaking of Environmental audits and the compilation of reports
• Ensure health issues are addressed & monitored in accordance with SHE monitoring
plan
• Ensure legal appointments are done for new arrivals and incumbents are trained in
accordance with the company’s internal HSE procedures.
• Identify common HSE issues and implement corrective and preventive measures
