9.ACKNOWLEDGING
Giving recognizing in a non judgmental way.
Acknowledgement may be ith or without
understanding verbal or nonverbal.
Eg.

7. 10.CLARIFYING TIME OR SEQUENCE
Helping the client clarify an event, situation or
happening in relationship to time.
Eg.
Client: I vomited this morning
Nurse: was the after breakfast?
11.PRESENTING REALITY
Helping the client to differentiate the real from
the unreal.
Eg. I see shadow from window coverings
8. 12.REFLECTING
directing leads feeling, questions or content
back to clients to enable them to explore their own
ideas and feelings about a situation

Nurse: what do you think would be helpful.
13.SUMMARIZING AND PLANNING
Stating a main points of a discussion to clarify
the relevant points discussed. This technique
useful to end of an interview.
