Nifty Intraday
Today, We may witness mild negative opening in Nifty around 8308 level on
back of SGX Nifty and other Asian counters which is trading on mixed note
today.
Nifty ended with flat note with a positive bias on Thursday as investors
remained on the sidelines and refrained from any buying activity ahead of
start of earnings season next week. Sentiments got some support with the
newly appointed Minister of State for Finance Santosh Gangwar’s statement
that the government is confident of getting the much-delayed GST Bill passed
in the upcoming Monsoon session of Parliament, beginning later this month.
Investors also got encouragement with the report that the Southwest
monsoon rainfall has shown a marginal rise of one per cent with a good
amount of precipitation in several parts of the country for the period between
June 1 and July 6, 2016. However, gains remained capped with the US stating
that India’s growth rate target of 7.5% seems 'overstated' due to 'depressed
investor sentiment' stemming from its failure to implement crucial market
reforms. On the global front, Asian markets ended mixed on Thursday, while
European markets made firm start with CAC-40, DAX and FTSE-100 gained
over a percent each. Back home, after getting a cautious start, the local
benchmark indices traded in tight near neutral line for the most part of the
session and settled on a flat note with a positive bias. Traders were seen
piling position in FMCG, Power and Banking stocks while selling was
witnessed in IT, Capital Goods and Metal sector stocks.
The top gainers in Nifty index were LUPIN, HINDALCO, HINDUNILVR,
DRREDDY, HDFC. While on the other hand, top losers were TATASTEEL,
HCLTECH, ZEEL, TCS, ADANIPORTS.
