1. The picture below is proof of the faulty garbage collection scene in some parts of our town. We decided to intervene and continue with our Clean Mango drive once more. We like the maxim charity begins at home decided to clean this area opposite to our school before we proceeded to the interiors.

2. The place outside and opposite the school campus was littered with heaps of garbage. Waste materials were spilt all over by the people living in the neighbourhood. The dustbin of the area was not cleaned for days. It was over-loaded and stinking. It was also a place for insects to multiply and spread communicable diseases.

3. We decided to take the first step and picked up brooms and shovels ourselves. We also at the same time wrote to the Special Officer of the Notified Area about our mission and requested him to help us.

4. With a few brooms, shovels, gloves and face masks the children formed an effective group along with the teacher and started cleaning the area. Watching the children cleaning the campus other children as well as people living near by also volunteered to help.

5. We visited the people living in the nearby area and shops. We informed the people about the harm of keeping the wastes near their houses. We have also requested them to keep two dustbins. One for bio-degradable and another for non-bio degradable.

6. We have also written the letter to the Special Officer of the Notified Area and requested them to clean up the dustbin which is overloaded. We also requested them to clean up that dustbin on a regular basis (twice in a week)

7. We took the initiative of cleaning the nearby school area and the roadside. The concerned authorities were under pressure seeing our initiative and had to repair their pick up vehicle and do the needful
