1. Step 1 – Choose a title, something that relates to your coursework, but
make sure the content is different to any other units and write an
introduction stating your intentions.
• 2 – Choose 2 or 3 photographers to use as a starting point, select at least
1 that is alive so there is a possibility of communication to help with
written work.
• 3 – Carefully select images to analyse, make sure they are relevant. Use
formal language where necessary.
• 4 – plan to take your photographs carefully, state your intentions and
make sure it has a visual link to the photographers/artists you
researched
• 5 – When taking your photos refer to notes you have made so you can
refer to elements of composition etc.
• 6 – Reflect on how the shoot went
• 7 – Show contact sheet and make notes if necessary.
• 8 – Include some edits, reflect what you have achieved.
• 9 – Analyse your images
• 10 – Compare and contrast with the work of others
• 11 – Present work to PH for feedback *
• 12 – amend, edit, present and hand in for marking
The essay must have a bibliography and reference all images used
