4. DEEOVAN MOWATT
About Me
I am an International Student from Jamaica currently enrolled in the Industrial Design Degree
program at Humber College. My passion for design started through my love for Formula 1 and who
so could be so functional yet so beautiful. I believe that great design isn’t just about beauty and
form following function but for following emotion, experience and after the product is no longer in
use.

Profile
8. The Eco-Flow is catamaran style vessel designed to remove
flowing debris from city waterways, canals and rivers.
Over 12 million metric tons of plastic debris enters the ocean each
year; 40% of which are produced by developing countries.
The Philippines rank 3rd, producing over 1.9 Million metric tons of
aquatic plastic waste each year.

10. 35°(X2)
When fully extended, the
conveyors can swing back and
forth up to 35 degrees.
The rotataion of the conveyor
can be powered either via the
motor or manually via pedals.
11. Conveyors are retractable,
enabling better
Hydrodynamics. This makes
the vessel shorter and more
nimble, thus offering better
handling dynamics.
The front scooper is able to
lower itself below waterlevel
creating an area of low
pressure for surfacewater
and debris to run off into.
12. 50ft

A Hydraulic press pushes debris towards the back of the
container, maximizing its 50 ft3 of storage space.
The pressure for the hydraulics is provided via (2) 40-pound air
tanks.
20. KARAKTAR
The objective for the chair project was to design a chair for a modern living environment, which was influenced by Scandinavian
Design. The twist was that the chair had to utilize no more than 10 fasteners and made from plywood and cord. Some consider-
ations for this project were, bending wood, designing the chair be flat packable, use a little material as possible, use as little adhesive
as possible.
The Karaktar is a Scandinavian style dining room chair. It is made from 1” thick boltic-burch plywood, Paper cord (twisted paper)
and 8 screws. Karaktar is also flat-packable.

32. SPEED-FORM
The objective for this project was to design a form that appeared to be fast. The
form had to be aerodynamic in nature yet modern and its appearance
was to show a clear association with SPEED.
33.
34. SPEED-FORM
The Final Design had convincingly met all the objectives needed in this project;
an interesting and dynamic shape that conveys a sense of speed and aero-
dynamic efficiency. With sharp edges and gentle flowing lines it is
reminiscent of some of the styling we see in many recent
high performance sports cars.
38. 3-WHEELER
The aim of this project was to design a 1+1
comunter vehicle for the year 2020 that utelized 3
wheels and took up 1/4 the space of a Ford F150. This project
was heavily focused on ergonomics being that the vehicle’s footprint
limit was so small. Considerations were also made for its power source/
sourses and driving system.

40.
41. Much of the insperation behind the design of this vehicle came from organic shapes combind with strong sharp lines. My aim for the exterior of
the vehicle was to creat a form that appeared to sculpted by the air. To achieve this I incorporated very sharp creased lines that flowed gently
down the sides and around the car to give it an instincktively aerodynamic yet beautiful form.
