You are the dispatcher : which elements you
need to organize the evacuation of the two
injured people ?
if you want a ground transport ?
if you want a helicopter evacuation ?
5. 18/12/2019 5
• Distance between the accident and trauma
center ?
• to calculate the evacuation's delay
• Sunset's hour ?
• Weather ?
• How many helicopters are available ?
• Night fly for HEMS possible ?
6. 18/12/2019 6
• You have 2 HEMS available but only one can fly by
night - only one patient in helicopter
• You have 1 ambulance with doctor on the bridge
• Ground transport to the trauma center : 30 minutes
• Air transport to the trauma center : 15 minutes
• Sunset hours : 7:15 PM
8. 18/12/2019 8
Finally, how we manage this accident :
• Only one HEMS available because on the sunset
• The helicopter on the scene embark the passenger and
desembark her on the bridge (because very difficult and time
consuming to cross the river with the stretcher). The
ambulance with doctor do a ground transportation.
• 19:15 PM : she was on the bridge -
• 19:25 PM : depart of groung transportation -
• 19:55 PM : arriving at trauma center
• the helicopter come back and embark the driver and fly to the
trauma center
• 19:30 PM : take off with the driver -
• 19:45 PM : arriving trauma center
