Pressure ulcer prevention and management, patient safety and comfort are optimised with leading innovative reactive foam technology of TREZZO. TREZZO uniquely contains Graphene an endothermic substance which facilitates the rapid immersion of the patient into the mattress resulting in independently proven superior low interface pressures. 50% lower heel pressures and 30% lower sacral pressures which were observed during a comparative independent evaluation undertaken by the University of Huddersfield. TREZZO additionally has an open cell structure which results in rapid recovery as the patient changes posture or position providing a reactive support surface ensuring continuously low interface pressure. The open cell structure of TREZZO has a 95% greater airflow than other types of foam. As the patient immerses into the foam, the compressed foam produces a conductive pathway (endothermic properties of Graphene) for heat to move towards the uncompressed adjacent open cell foam from where the heat is liberated by convection. In addition to continuously delivering low interface pressure, the unique technology of TREZZO reduces moisture and heat build-up which further enhances patient comfort and safety by improving the patient micro-climate, further reducing the risk of pressure ulcer development

Introduction
Investigating ways in which cost can be reduced whilst maintaining high-quality care for patients is
essential. One of the ways this could be achieved is through ensuring the appropriate use
of dynamic systems in practice.
Method
TREZZO HS systems were evaluated over a 6-week period on a vascular and stroke ward in different
trusts, with the aim of evaluating whether the TREZZO HS system could reduce the use of dynamic
systems. All high specification foam systems were replaced with the TREZZO HS. Data was compared
with corresponding retrospective data in the previous year, including: mean length of
stay on the mattresses.
Key Findings
A total of 298 patients were included in the
analysis. The use of the TREZZO mattresses resulted
in a reduction of the mean length of stay on a dynamic
mattress from 41.0 days to 12.6 days; representing a
decrease in usage of 28.4 days; about 70%.
Follow-Up Cost Analysis
A post-evaluation cost analysis was conducted to assess the wards
cost savings before and after implementing the TREZZO HS advanced
system, see table below.
The TREZZO HS was found to be effective at reducing the use of dynamic mattress systems
on both stroke and vascular wards (70%), which has led to considerable savings (collectively 80.4%) for the trusts.
