Responsible for managing the quarterly reporting process for Wachovia’s REPO Group. Included
outsourcing database development, preparation of asset business plans, and coordinating
quarterly REPO portfolio meetings. Portfolio included management of data on 270 assets, the
preparation of 110 asset business plans on a quarterly basis. Also performed underwriting,
documentation, and monitoring for 11 equity investments in real estate opportunity funds
originated by investment banking.
Vice President – Portfolio Manager/Underwriter. August 2005 – April 2007, Charlotte, NC
Underwrote, closed, and provided portfolio management responsibilities for the Wachovia
Corporate Real Estate Group hospitality portfolio. New deals underwritten and closed over 15
months totaled $1.0 Bn. Activities included attending bank meeting, coordinated syndicated
loan closing, communications with Wachovia’s syndication team and bank syndicate members
regarding underwriting and deal terms. Also developed major improvements to portfolio
management process and management reporting for hospitality portfolio and was a leader in
establishing treasury services processes that included exposure reviews, daily approvals, and
approvals of Deposit Account and Control Agreements.
KeyBank and Washington Mutual:
Vice President, Credit Manager/Relationship Manager, October 2003 – August 2005,
Charlotte, NC
Originated, underwrote, and closed land development and builder lines totaling $90 MM in total
exposure. Wrote business development plan for North and South Carolina. Structured and
underwrote acquisition and development loans, construction loans, and letters of credit for
residential home builders. Loans range from $2MM to $40MM for companies with revenues
from $10MM to $350MM.
Bank of America:
Vice President, Senior Underwriter, August 2002 – October 2003, Charlotte, NC
Underwrote and closed multiple property types including multi-family, office, retail, and “big
box” single-tenant retail for CMBS program. Deal sizes ranged from $6MM to $28MM.
Vice President, Structuring Specialist/Portfolio Manager, May 1998 – August 2002, Charlotte,
NC
Performed due diligence, underwrote, closed, and monitored large real estate transactions.
Commitments included subscription facilities for opportunity funds, revolvers for REITS,
construction loans for single-asset and borrowing base financings, interest rate protection and
equity derivative transactions. Typical deal size ranged from $50MM to $100MM.
