We are a performing arts school with a difference. For ten years we have been in the business
of turning out triple threats with a twist! This is an action packed and vibrant performing arts
school with full on Pacific flavour. We have a brand-new, purpose built, campus in the heart of
Avondale with 3 main studios, a performance space and class rooms. Our students are taught
by permanent and guest tutors, directors and chorographers who are current leading industry
professionals.
PIPA combines contemporary teaching practice with a genuine Pasifika flavour. Students are
taught by tutors, directors and choreographers who are leading industry professionals.

duration: 36 weeks
This is a foundation course that gives students an exciting introduction to various areas within
the Performing Arts
Including
Film Making – camera work, script writing, editing
Performance Skills - Drama and Dance, Devised theatre
Production and Design Skills - Lighting, makeup, set and costume design
Hair and Makeup.

5. diploma in pacific performing arts level 5
duration: 2 years (two 36 week blocks)
As a Diploma in Pacific Performing Arts student you could spend two years studying
Acting
Dance
Pacific Performance and Culture
Just some of the areas covered in the Diploma course include, acting theory and technique,
voice, movement, contemporary dance, hip hop, Kapa haka, Pacific dance (Hula, Siva Samoa,
Tau’olunga, Tahitian and more), Pacific culture and history and professional management.
Students will have the opportunity to perform in a number of public performances including
plays, dance productions and created solo performances.

Our school is a challenging and nurturing environment for our students. We have created a safe
platform where trying and failing is as important as succeeding. Our students are encouraged to learn
and grow through creative and personal exploration. PIPA has an amazing following. We currently
have a fantastic industry support team and our productions continue to inspire, creating a whole new
audience of theatre lovers.
We are so excited about the impact PIPA is having, and will continue to have, on the performing and
screen industries in Aotearoa and the Pacific. In the past year our students have had roles in films,
jobs as television presenters forTVNZ, roles in various theatre projects, danced for major companies,
formed their own companies and toured their work in Samoa, and landed roles in future television

Soon after starting at PIPA I landed a role in a feature film, worked as an actor on the
opera La Boheme and did a workshop reading for AucklandTheatre Company. Prior
to graduating I was successful in auditioning for the role of presenter for TVNZ’s
Tagata Pasifika . I would not have had any of these opportunities without PIPA.
