The goal was to design and build an
emergency services message paging
system for the Victorian State Government
Emergency Services.
The solution is built using WebSphere, DB2
and Struts/Hibernate as a clustered
99.999% High Availability Solution. The
project has been successfully been
deployed, and is now productised and sold
internationally.

• As the CTO for Newsnet, David led a team
to replace the legacy switching, billing and
client facing systems.

culminated in new business direction for
Newsnet leading to an increased growth to
quadruple their traffic handling capacity.

5th Finger is a mobile marketing company.
Leveraging the SMS and MMS delivery channel to
extend advertising agency reach.
• Integrated high capacity SMPP SMS
gateway link to improve capacity.
• SMPP integration – By enabling the Short
Message Peer to Peer (SMPP) integration
technology to Optus and Telstra, this
provided a greatly needed capacity
increase to address growing traffic
volumes. This enabled 5th Finger to handle
a larger traffic volume and hence a larger
