Founded in 1867 as the Cornwall Heights School by Reverend Louis
P. Ledoux, The Storm King School provides a specialized, individually
focused, and comprehensive learning experience for its students. The
school, situated on the Hudson River’s west bank north of New York
City, endeavors to provide an environment of support and security
for its body of roughly 140 students. Though it is optional, a majority
of students board at the school, providing themselves an immersive
educational and social environment.

David Chirls, an architect who has served on management, design,
and production teams for several architectural firms throughout his
career, serves on The Storm King School’s board of trustees and is
also actively involved as part of the school’s building committee.
