General Manager of Aquionics Inc. 2015-2016
Moved to combination finance/operational role of this $13M distribution
subsidiary. Responsible for Finance, IT, HR and all day to day operations
except sales. Implemented and tracked a series of performance metrics, thus
reducing late shipments, order errors and stock-outs. Established minimum
stocking and order quantities in inventory thus reducing stock levels while also
making ordering an automatic function. Began the process of re-organizing the
warehouse layout to increase operating and space efficiencies. Decreased
DSO by 20%.
Divisional Controller 1999-2015
Promoted to Divisional Controller at US headquarters, responsible for the
financial and compliance oversight of the Halma US companies (30 currently)
whose annual sales are now in excess of $500M. Responsible for negotiation
on commercial insurance for US companies and medical insurance for 1,500
US employees.
Conduct semi - annual internal audits of US companies. Conduct due diligence
on potential acquisitions. Responsible for integration of newly acquired
companies into Halma’s accounting and corporate standards. Responsible for
oversight of all income tax provision calculations and all US state and federal
income tax filings. Contact person on all tax audits.
VP Finance of Volk Optical Inc. 1996-1999
Promoted to board level position of this larger manufacturing company upon
it’s acquisition by Halma. Revamped entire Accounting function to Halma
standards as well as responsible for assimilating the company into Halma’s
culture. Responsible for the purchase and implementation of new accounting
and operating software. Acting president of company for nine months, during
which period the company recorded it’s highest monthly sales total ever to that
point.
2. VP Finance of IPC Resistors Inc. 1994-1996
Promoted to board level position at IPC due to growth of company. Integral
member of company management team. Responsible for entire Accounting
and Personnel function as this manufacturing company grew from 5 to 45
employees. Developed and implemented sales costing function. Developed
company’s personnel policies.
Controller of Aquionics Inc., Castell Interlocks Inc., IPC Resistors 1993-1994
Started at Halma as Controller of these three small manufacturing and
distributing companies. Responsible for entire Accounting function, including
A/R, A/P, payroll and G/L. Performed month and year end closings, interfaced
with outside auditors and income tax preparers. Responsible for yearly budget
preparation and all personnel issues.
Miami Systems Corp. 1990-1993
General Accounting Manager. Responsible for G/L function and supervised A/P
function at two plants of this $80 million printing company as well as for sales
offices throughout the eastern US. Responsible for monthly consolidation of
accounts and generation of final company financial statements. Prime liaison
with outside auditors and tax preparers.
Concept USA 1988-1990
Cost Accountant. Responsible for implementing a costing system for this
plastics manufacturer. Supervised the quarterly inventory process and
responsible for valuing these inventories. Also supervised the A/P function.
Identified several products that had negative margins, enabling the company to
adjust the selling price and increase profits. Developed a labor tracking system.
Grinnell Fire Protection Systems Co. 1986-1988
Assistant to the District Controller. Supervised A/P and A/R functions and
responsible for G/L function at this fire sprinkler sub-contractor. Performed
monthly progress billings on all contracts.
Other Proficient in several Accounting software packages (Solomon, MAS 200, Businessworks,
Qualifications Quickbooks and Peachtree). Extensive experience with Microsoft Office.
