Who is Nichiha Fiber Cement?
(Pronounced‘Nee-chee-ha’)
A Brief Overview
• Nichiha Corporation, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation founded in 1623, has
been a leading manufacturer of fiber cement building materials for more than 40
years. Known for their strength, durability and versatility of design, Nichiha expanded
its fiber cement offering to the United States in 1998.
• Today, Nichiha offers over (25) styles of fiber cement products for commercial and
residential applications. Products include:
> Brick and Stone Panel Systems which feature the patented clip fastening system.
> Full ½”thick Premium Shake Panels.
> Full ½”thick Smooth Lap Panels.
• Innovative features such as our patented clip fastening system for brick and stone panels to our exacting methods of
manufacturing at our ISO 9001 certified manufacturing facilities provide you with the confidence needed to sell products
that are visually unmatched in texture, beauty and quality.

What’s so unique about Nichiha Fiber Cement?
Brick and Stone Panel Wall Systems
• Patented Fastening System – Nichiha brick and stone panel
wall systems are a true revolution in the industry! We are the
only fiber cement manufacturer to offer a system in which the
panels are fastened to the sub-structure with a patented clip
system, saving time and labor.
• Installs Over Various Substrates – The patented clip system
allows for installation over substrates such as metal studs,
structural insulated panels, concrete masonry units as well as
wood frame construction.
• Resists Moisture Build-up – The unique construction of
Nichiha fiber cement panels and clip system allows for a ¼”
pocket of air between the panel and the substrate reducing
moisture build-up and minimizing moisture damage to the
substrate.
• Ship-lapped Construction – All brick and stone panels are ship-lapped on all (4) sides and encompass a gasket system
which allows for a tight fit and seamless appearance.
• Compatible with Vinyl Trim Accessories – Nichiha brick and stone panel wall systems are completely compatible with vinyl
trim accessories providing flexible design options and resulting in an overall user-friendly application.
Sierra Premium Shake and Smooth Panel Siding
• 60% Thicker than the competition – Nichiha Premium Sierra Shake panels are
½”thick - 60% thicker than other fiber cement panels - which results in a more
distinctive and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
• High Wind Resistance – ½”thick shake and lap panels withstand greater
than 150 mph sustainable winds – ASTM E330 and require no face nailing in
high wind regions thus reducing the chance for the panel splitting during
installation. The result is a tasteful, high-end appearance with no“nail pops”.
• Quick Installation and Less Breakage – Available in 8’lengths, Nichiha Sierra
Premium Shake panels allow for quicker installation and less cutting in addition
to less breakage due to ½”construction.
• Factory Primed and Sealed – All shake panels are factory primed and factory
sealed on all (6) sides.
Our Manufacturing Methods
• 80% Portland Cement and 20% Wood Fiber – All Nichiha products are
manufactured utilizing 80% Portland cement and 20% wood fiber. Other
manufacturers utilize 70% Portland cement and a 30%“pulp”fiber – this method
allows for an increase of the wicking of water which can result in de-lamination.
• Pressed and Autoclaved vs. Laminated or Layered – All Nichiha products are
“autoclaved”meaning that our products are stamped from (2) sides under
heated high pressure and then baked vs. other fiber cement products which
encompass a method of layering and lamination. Laminated products tend to
“de-laminate”when exposed to wicking water, particularly pulp based products..

Potential Revenue and Profit Calculation
The following chart illustrates the potential revenue and profit that a dealer can experience through the sale of Nichiha Fiber
Cement products. The connect rate is a“hit rate”as a percentage of overall siding sales based on a“per square”sales figure.
The Dealer Advantage
• No Initial Inventory Commitment – PPW and Nichiha recognize that the determination of the correct inventory mix is a
difficult proposition without any sales history. PPW’s commitment to product inventory and the high percentage of jobs
that can be shipped in the form of direct truckloads provides the dealer with the freedom to sell the entire product line
without the burden of a large inventory position.
• Preferred Pricing Program – By investing in the Advantage Program, you are provided with pricing that affords you more
versatility on gross profit margins and in competitive bid situations.
• Local Project Opportunities – PPW employs product specialists whose main focus is geared towards the architect and
design build contractors in an effort to get Nichiha products specified into the job which in turn creates additional sales
opportunities for Advantage Dealers. This Team effort will ultimately produce a large amount of sales volume.
• Contractors Network – In an effort to support your sales efforts, we have designed a contractors training program aimed at
driving business through Advantage Dealers to their preferred contractors. The training program is comprehensive in that
it involves the Dealer from the start. Complete details under separate cover in the Contractors Network Program – please
contact PPW for details.
• Dealer Staff Training – The key to the success of the Advantage Program is proper training – ultimately, the comfort level
of the dealers sales staff with a new product is reflected in their sales performance. PPW and Nichiha firmly believe that a
sound training program is instrumental to the overall success of the program and we are prepared to provide your staff with
in depth training in an effort to guarantee a solid education in the Nichiha product line, sales techniques and installation
details. Your success is our success!
• Advertising and Co-op – PPW and Nichiha advertise both locally and nationally. As a commitment to your success,
Advantage Dealers have the option of being listed in advertising to your local market. If you have an interest in advertising
Nichiha on your own, PPW will provide a 1% co-op fund to support your efforts. In addition, we can provide you with all of
the marketing material and graphics that you need to make the campaign a success.
• AIA Presentation – Nichiha has invested in the production and management of an approved AIA presentation to provide
continuing education credits for architects. Representatives from Nichiha and PPW are authorized to present the AIA
program and are available to do so at any architect function. The program is also available online at www.aecdaily.com for
an architect’s convenience.

• Substantial Additional Revenue – Provides substantial additional revenue while at the same time maintaining (and not
cannibalizing) current SKU’s such as vinyl siding.
• A Less Costly Option to Masonry – An excellent option to conventional masonry and allows the dealer the opportunity to
provide their customers with a tasteful solution at a fraction of the cost.
• The Art of Up-selling – Allows the dealer and contractor the opportunity to“up-sell”the customer on other complimentary
products such as composite PVC trim, outdoor lighting, high end roofing products, etc.
• Simple Time and Labor Saving Installation – Installation can be accomplished utilizing standard siding crews…no need for
the dealer to find new customers. In addition, you save time and labor due to the square footage per panel.
• Winter Application – Unlike conventional masonry, Nichiha can be installed in cold weather environments eliminating the
need for portable heaters and plastic sheathing enclosures saving valuable time and labor.
If You Don’t Go for the 4th Side, You’ll Never Get the 4th Side!
• “Get the 4th Side” – Many siding jobs encompass masonry as an option on a portion of the job such as the facing of the
front side of the structure and this is where the dealer loses out. Nichiha brick and stone products provide an opportunity
for the dealer to capture that business and realize a greater percentage of the overall siding job, keeping that portion of the
job from going to the mason and brick yard.
The following (3) examples are based on a:
1) 50,000 sq. ft. commercial building, 1 story measuring 500’x 100’
2) 10,000 sq. ft. commercial building, 1 story measuring 100’x 100’
3) 2,400 sq. ft. ranch style home, 1 story measuring approx. 65’x 36’

The Dealer Commitment
• Product Awareness – By becoming part of the Advantage Program you’re committing to the success of the product. Simply
said the easiest way to get on the road to success and be successful as an Advantage Dealer is to“talk up”the product and
then offering it as an option in every suitable situation. Market acceptance is a numbers game…the more customers that
become aware of a new, innovative product, the better opportunity you have to sell the product.
• Dealer Sales Staff Training
> A requirement of the Advantage Program is that all sales staff at each location receives product and installation training
by either a PPW Specialist and/or Nichiha representative.
> The training would involve a“hands on”build out of a display that will remain with the dealer once complete. The fact
that the sales staff will be personally involved in the construction of the display during the training session will surely
allow them the confidence they’ll need once they begin to interact with their customers in the sale of the product.
> The cost for this display is $400.00 A wall display is available for $200.00 in lieu of the stand-alone display and your sales
staff would participate in the construction of this display as well.
> Branch location training must commence within (45) days of acceptance of this program by the dealer.
• Contractor/ Installer Training – This is perhaps the most critical and important element of the Advantage Program. We
invite you to select (4) local contractors/installers per inside and outside sales representative at each branch location that
you feel would be well suited selling and installing Nichiha products to their customers and PPW and Nichiha will provide a
hands-on training session which will cover installation training, product knowledge and selling suggestions.
• Dealer Sales Rep Samples
> Demonstrating the realistic appearance and texture of Nichia panels is essential to selling large jobs. We have
developed complete carry board sample sets to help specifiers make sound decisions on product selection.
> As a requirement of the program, (1) set of Nichiha Presentation Display Folders must be purchased for each outside
sales representative at each branch location. The cost to you is $150.00/set. Included with the set of samples will be:
1) Product binder
2) Completed Job Photo Gallery – in print and on CD.
3) Ability to order cut samples
• Travel Days – Experience has proven that working together provides the best opportunities
and expresses to the prospect that we have committed the resources as a group in an effort
to support them. When we partner, we all benefit from each others strengths. Therefore, we
would request that each outside sales rep. at each branch location schedule a minimum of
two (2) travel days with your local PPW specialist or sales representative to make sales calls on
prospects that you feel would be a good fit for Nichiha within the first three (3) months.

(Pronounced‘Nee-chee-ha’) A Brief Overview • Nichiha Corporation, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation founded in 1623, has been a leading manufacturer of fiber cement building materials for more than 40 years. Known for their strength, durability and versatility of design, Nichiha expanded its fiber cement offering to the United States in 1998. • Today, Nichiha offers over (25) styles of fiber cement products for commercial and residential applications. Products include: > Brick and Stone Panel Systems which feature the patented clip fastening system. > Full ½”thick Premium Shake Panels. > Full ½”thick Smooth Lap Panels. • Innovative features such as our patented clip fastening system for brick and stone panels to our exacting methods of manufacturing at our ISO 9001 certified manufacturing facilities provide you with the confidence needed to sell products that are visually unmatched in texture, beauty and quality. 1 Product Panel Size Sq. ft.   • 3. 2 What’s so unique about Nichiha Fiber Cement? Brick and Stone Panel Wall Systems • Patented Fastening System – Nichiha brick and stone panel wall systems are a true revolution in the industry! We are the only fiber cement manufacturer to offer a system in which the panels are fastened to the sub-structure with a patented clip system, saving time and labor. • Installs Over Various Substrates – The patented clip system allows for installation over substrates such as metal studs, structural insulated panels, concrete masonry units as well as wood frame construction. • Resists Moisture Build-up – The unique construction of Nichiha fiber cement panels and clip system allows for a ¼” pocket of air between the panel and the substrate reducing moisture build-up and minimizing moisture damage to the substrate. • Ship-lapped Construction – All brick and stone panels are ship-lapped on all (4) sides and encompass a gasket system which allows for a tight fit and seamless appearance. • Compatible with Vinyl Trim Accessories – Nichiha brick and stone panel wall systems are completely compatible with vinyl trim accessories providing flexible design options and resulting in an overall user-friendly application. Sierra Premium Shake and Smooth Panel Siding • 60% Thicker than the competition – Nichiha Premium Sierra Shake panels are ½”thick - 60% thicker than other fiber cement panels - which results in a more distinctive and aesthetically pleasing appearance. • High Wind Resistance – ½”thick shake and lap panels withstand greater than 150 mph sustainable winds – ASTM E330 and require no face nailing in high wind regions thus reducing the chance for the panel splitting during installation. The result is a tasteful, high-end appearance with no“nail pops”. • Quick Installation and Less Breakage – Available in 8’lengths, Nichiha Sierra Premium Shake panels allow for quicker installation and less cutting in addition to less breakage due to ½”construction. • Factory Primed and Sealed – All shake panels are factory primed and factory sealed on all (6) sides. Our Manufacturing Methods • 80% Portland Cement and 20% Wood Fiber – All Nichiha products are manufactured utilizing 80% Portland cement and 20% wood fiber. Other manufacturers utilize 70% Portland cement and a 30%“pulp”fiber – this method allows for an increase of the wicking of water which can result in de-lamination. • Pressed and Autoclaved vs. Laminated or Layered – All Nichiha products are “autoclaved”meaning that our products are stamped from (2) sides under heated high pressure and then baked vs. other fiber cement products which encompass a method of layering and lamination. Laminated products tend to “de-laminate”when exposed to wicking water, particularly pulp based products..
  • 4. 3 Potential Revenue and Profit Calculation The following chart illustrates the potential revenue and profit that a dealer can experience through the sale of Nichiha Fiber Cement products. The connect rate is a“hit rate”as a percentage of overall siding sales based on a“per square”sales figure. The Dealer Advantage • No Initial Inventory Commitment – PPW and Nichiha recognize that the determination of the correct inventory mix is a difficult proposition without any sales history. PPW’s commitment to product inventory and the high percentage of jobs that can be shipped in the form of direct truckloads provides the dealer with the freedom to sell the entire product line without the burden of a large inventory position. • Preferred Pricing Program – By investing in the Advantage Program, you are provided with pricing that affords you more versatility on gross profit margins and in competitive bid situations. • Local Project Opportunities – PPW employs product specialists whose main focus is geared towards the architect and design build contractors in an effort to get Nichiha products specified into the job which in turn creates additional sales opportunities for Advantage Dealers. This Team effort will ultimately produce a large amount of sales volume. • Contractors Network – In an effort to support your sales efforts, we have designed a contractors training program aimed at driving business through Advantage Dealers to their preferred contractors. The training program is comprehensive in that it involves the Dealer from the start. Complete details under separate cover in the Contractors Network Program – please contact PPW for details. • Dealer Staff Training – The key to the success of the Advantage Program is proper training – ultimately, the comfort level of the dealers sales staff with a new product is reflected in their sales performance. PPW and Nichiha firmly believe that a sound training program is instrumental to the overall success of the program and we are prepared to provide your staff with in depth training in an effort to guarantee a solid education in the Nichiha product line, sales techniques and installation details. Your success is our success! • Advertising and Co-op – PPW and Nichiha advertise both locally and nationally. As a commitment to your success, Advantage Dealers have the option of being listed in advertising to your local market. If you have an interest in advertising Nichiha on your own, PPW will provide a 1% co-op fund to support your efforts. In addition, we can provide you with all of the marketing material and graphics that you need to make the campaign a success. • AIA Presentation – Nichiha has invested in the production and management of an approved AIA presentation to provide continuing education credits for architects. Representatives from Nichiha and PPW are authorized to present the AIA program and are available to do so at any architect function. The program is also available online at www.aecdaily.com for an architect’s convenience. In addition, you save time and labor due to the square footage per panel. • Winter Application – Unlike conventional masonry, Nichiha can be installed in cold weather environments eliminating the need for portable heaters and plastic sheathing enclosures saving valuable time and labor. If You Don’t Go for the 4th Side, You’ll Never Get the 4th Side! • “Get the 4th Side” – Many siding jobs encompass masonry as an option on a portion of the job such as the facing of the front side of the structure and this is where the dealer loses out. Nichiha brick and stone products provide an opportunity for the dealer to capture that business and realize a greater percentage of the overall siding job, keeping that portion of the job from going to the mason and brick yard. Simply said the easiest way to get on the road to success and be successful as an Advantage Dealer is to“talk up”the product and then offering it as an option in every suitable situation. Market acceptance is a numbers game…the more customers that become aware of a new, innovative product, the better opportunity you have to sell the product. • Dealer Sales Staff Training > A requirement of the Advantage Program is that all sales staff at each location receives product and installation training by either a PPW Specialist and/or Nichiha representative. > The training would involve a“hands on”build out of a display that will remain with the dealer once complete. The fact that the sales staff will be personally involved in the construction of the display during the training session will surely allow them the confidence they’ll need once they begin to interact with their customers in the sale of the product. > The cost for this display is $400.00 A wall display is available for $200.00 in lieu of the stand-alone display and your sales staff would participate in the construction of this display as well. > Branch location training must commence within (45) days of acceptance of this program by the dealer. • Contractor/ Installer Training – This is perhaps the most critical and important element of the Advantage Program. We invite you to select (4) local contractors/installers per inside and outside sales representative at each branch location that you feel would be well suited selling and installing Nichiha products to their customers and PPW and Nichiha will provide a hands-on training session which will cover installation training, product knowledge and selling suggestions. • Dealer Sales Rep Samples > Demonstrating the realistic appearance and texture of Nichia panels is essential to selling large jobs. We have developed complete carry board sample sets to help specifiers make sound decisions on product selection. > As a requirement of the program, (1) set of Nichiha Presentation Display Folders must be purchased for each outside sales representative at each branch location. The cost to you is $150.00/set. Included with the set of samples will be: 1) Product binder 2) Completed Job Photo Gallery – in print and on CD. 3) Ability to order cut samples • Travel Days – Experience has proven that working together provides the best opportunities and expresses to the prospect that we have committed the resources as a group in an effort to support them. When we partner, we all benefit from each others strengths. Therefore, we would request that each outside sales rep. at each branch location schedule a minimum of two (2) travel days with your local PPW specialist or sales representative to make sales calls on prospects that you feel would be a good fit for Nichiha within the first three (3) months.
