The Differences Between Architects Le Corbusier And Laurie...

1. MarseilleMy second year project was split into two,
the first being a small introductory project
based in Roehampton, which would go on
to inform our main project based within Le
Corbusier’s Unite d’Habitation. The aim of
the project was to design a building that
would help to bring the community of
residents within the Unite together. The
Unite is a building that always seems to
split opinions, people either love it or hate
it
And seemingly question whether or not Le
Corbusiers idea of have a ‘vertical city’ works or not.
The building itself is split into ‘L’ shaped apartments
that are accessed by central corridors, with an
internal street on the 3rd & 4th floors. The internal
street is where I situated my proposal. A library, A
communal building that offers residents, and visitors,
a service that caters for all ages.
Over my first two years of study at Kingston it was
encouraged to understand the design process by
drawing the majority of my work by hand.
