Boilers For Process Heating
Cross Hire Boilers can also be used for process heating. However, as the boiler
itself cannot accept all fluids, it is necessary to connect to the process via a
heat exchanger.This ensures that the boiler has its own water circuit separate
from the process circuit.

Case Study 1
250KW BOILER - HA O’NEILL
OUR LADY’S NURSING HOME, DALKEY
A planned shutdown and strip out of the existing heating and hot water plant in Our Lady’s Nursing
Home, Dalkey posed a serious issue for the Mechanical contractors. How to shut down and switch out
the plant in a six week programme and yet keep the premises running and the residents comfortable
and provide the hot water that was necessary.
The contractors turned to Cross Hire to provide a solution.After a site visit by one of our specialist hire
managers, assessing the equipment placement, site access and local power requirements one of
our 250kw Dual circuit oil fired containerised boilers was chosen and we were able to provide the
necessary heat load required to keep the building in as much heating and hot water as needed.
The site was restrictive for space but the small footprint of the 10ft container meant that we could place
the unit on the perimeter of the building and run some 35mts of 2” flexible hose both flow and return
and connect to the existing plant room pipe work in the centre of the complex.
Once the boiler arrived on site it was piped, connected, filled and commissioned within 3hrs.This fast
and efficient service is what Cross Hire is known for.

Case Study 2
250KW BOILER - KLEEREX
During the winter months of January and February the temperatures dropped sharply. Kleerex, a shop
fitting company found that their heating system broke down.They turned to Cross Hire for a fast solution.
After a site visit by a specialist hire representative, we recommended a boiler coupled to an air
handling unit as the most efficient way of heating the entire 4,000sq mt production warehouse.
IDF diesel heaters could also have serviced the required duty but the amount of equipment required
was not possible for the site orientation and the simple option of a 250kw packaged boiler connected
to a 200kw (heat) air handling unit was chosen.
The equipment was delivered by hi-ab transport the next morning and the system was up and running
before lunchtime.

Case Study 3
LEISURELAND GALWAY - TEMPORARY BOILER SOLUTION
The existing heating system failed and Cross Hire were called to supply emergency temporary
heating to the shopping mall.Within 24 hours we had 2 x 100kw air handling units installed and
delivering temperatures between 25°C - 28°C in the mall area.
