To whom it may concern,
I am writing to apply for the role of Trainer and Assessor.
I have Certificate IV in Training and Assessing as well as 2 years’ experience in a similar role –
combined with a further 2 years’ experience volunteering as a teacher’s aide in Literacy and
Numeracy.
At SmartCity, I worked with students who had a number of challenges, including behavioural
issues and a range of diagnosed and undiagnosed conditions such as Autism Spectrum
Disorder and ADD. I am comfortable designing and delivering classroom materials to work
around people with different learning styles and needs and find the challenge stimulating
and engaging. I was also responsible for coordinating work placements so that students
gained real world understanding of Retail and a credible job history for their future careers.
In my previous role at Sarina Russo Institute, I worked with the long-term unemployed,
again teaching Retail Operations and providing opportunities to transition my students into
work through the course.
I believe in making a difference in people’s lives and think that working with people who
have barriers to training and / or employment is the best way that I can make a real
contribution to my community. I was fortunate in my retail endeavours and am in a position
where I can focus my career on making a difference and giving something back to the
community. In addition to lifetime skills, I have participated in the following learning
opportunities and gained certificates of attendance:
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander—Cultural Awareness Training.
Accidental Counsellor – Uniting Church.
Adult Literacy and Numeracy.
Blue Card Holder.
Retail Workplace Currency.
