4. Testimonial
"Daniel Morad is a racing driver, and a man, who has always impressed
me. A champion from the earliest years of his career, he has marked
himself out as one of very few racing drivers that I have encountered
who has been able to garner the respect of his fellow drivers on track,
and yet maintain their friendships away from the track. This says much
of Daniel, the man. Dogged, determined, focussed and driven but with
genuine likability, he is as much an asset to a racing team in terms of
what he brings from a technical and racing perspective, as he is an
asset to his sponsors and partners as a representative and
spokesperson.
It is becoming increasingly difficult for any young driver, no matter his
nationality, background, racing pedigree or talent to make it to the
highest levels of racing competition in this modern era. But Daniel’s
abilities are such that for him to fall by the wayside, as have so many of
his contemporaries and one-time rivals, would be a genuine tragedy for
the world of motorsport.
I have always enjoyed watching Daniel race. And I hope to be able to do
so, at the highest levels of competition, for many years to come.”
Will Buxton - Formula 1 Broadcaster, Commentator and Journalist.
5. Testimonial
“I’ve known Daniel Morad for more than a dozen years and have been fortunate
to have followed his career closely, and from a very early age, in a karting series
I was involved with. Daniel was initially a timid young man, but with plenty of
potential. He quickly became a dominant karting competitor both in Canada
and in the United States, culminating with a World Champion’s title. His
dominance continued in single-seat racing cars through Formula 2000 and
Formula BMW.
Of the hundreds of young drivers I have seen compete over the past decade,
Daniel ranks amongst just a few with a natural talent for not only being very
fast, but also understanding what it takes to prepare and compete to win races.
And in todays motorsport world of corporate dependence and marketability,
Daniel possesses the personality to be an asset to any team and its sponsor.”
Ron Fellows - Co-owner of Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and Former Corvette
Racing Factory Driver.
6. Testimonial
“I first took notice of Daniel Morad at the Kart track where he was winning
races against very talented drivers with more experience. As Daniel
progressed to racing cars we worked hard to have him join our Formula
BMW team where he repaid our efforts by winning several races on his
way to the Rookie of the Year title and at the season ending BMW World
Finals he was the highest finishing North American driver ahead of current
Formula 1 stars. Daniel went on to win the North American Formula BMW
Championship the following year and began his rise through the European
motorsports ranks.
We have followed Daniel's career with much interest as he is not only a
talented driver but also a personable young man that you can't help but to
like. Given the right opportunity we would not hesitate to have Daniel drive
for us again as we firmly believe he has what it takes to win and what it
takes to be a tremendous ambassador for our team and sponsors.”
Ian Willis - Partner, AIM Autosport
7. Behind the Wheel
• Morad was hand selected by Canadian racing legend, Ron Fellows, to become
a member of the Sunoco Team Ultra 94 in the Bridgestone F2000 Racing
Academy. In 7 races, Morad had 7 race wins, 7 pole positions and had 7
fastest race laps, making him the only driver to make a clean sweep, and still
holds that record to this day!
• Morad was selected by Dr. Helmut Marko, Motorsport Director at Red Bull
Racing Formula 1, to become a member of the highly coveted Red Bull Junior
Team. He went on to win the Formula BMW USA Championship after setting
multiple records, one of which was winning 6 of 14 races that season.
• Daniel started the following season in the Formula Atlantic Championship, but
before the season’s end, he was signed to race for Team Lebanon in A1GP -
The World Cup of Motorsport. He scored Team Lebanon’s first ever points in
his first race in the series.
• Through his success in A1GP, Daniel landed a race seat in the GP3 Series,
which competed at 8 Formula One Grand Prix events throughout Europe. He
managed to consistently qualify in the top 5, notching one victory to his belt in
the highly competitive series.
• In the same season, he won the Rotax Max Karting World Championship in La
Conca, Italy. Morad qualified on pole position in the 72 kart field during the
timed qualifying session. He battled adversity all week in the pinnacle DD2
category, having to come through the field after starting in the 20th position in
a 24 lap race to take the victory on the last lap, in the last corner.
8. Driver Training
• Daniel burst onto the driver coaching and corporate training scene in 2011. This is when he experienced his first taste of satisfaction
for helping others and sharing his wealth of knowledge and experience.
• Morad is one of the 3 drive instructors on the Audi Driving Experience. He works along side Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame
legends, Scott Goodyear, a former Indy Car driver and 2-time Indy 500 runner-up, and Richard Spenard, a multi-time Porsche 944
Turbo Cup Champion.
• Daniel is also part of the Volkswagen Golf Experience, offering professional driving tips to help improve road safety, as well as boost
brand awareness.
• Not only does Morad focus on the corporate side of the action, he also spends time privately coaching drivers on a one-to-one basis.
He has been spending a lot of time around the karting circuits in Canada to stay in touch with all the young drivers coming up the
ranks offering support, just the same way he had support from drivers that he looked up to at a young age.
9. Driver Training
• At the age of 10, Daniel joined a local soccer club to help improve his
fitness. When he turned 16 years old, he had to make the hard
decision to stop playing competitively and turn down scholarships to
pursue his number one passion, motorsport. Fourteen years later, he
continues to play several times a week on multiple amateur teams.
• Music has always been a passion for Daniel. He became a DJ in 2010,
playing in Toronto’s biggest venues in front of several thousand people.
He is currently remixing tracks and working on his own original
productions. He recently formed a duo called Th3 Mentalists.
• Since 2011, Morad has been involved in educating and coaching
drivers, racers and also sales personnel in the automotive industry
across North America. He currently works with and represents
manufacturers such as Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Lamborghini,
BMW, Infiniti, Honda, Acura and Subaru.
• Daniel is committed to giving back to the racing community, never
forgetting his roots. He is a coach and mentor for many young drivers
in karting, from 8 years of age and older.
