In the beginning, you
noticed a problem…

Guide.
• To point out a problem statement,
there should be a target audience
you have segmented because we
know everyone does not have the
problem. Second, that’s how to make
your arguments more valid.
• So, briefly tell us:
1. The type of audience that
have the problem you want to
solve?
2. How did you segment your
audience from the general
population?
3. Why did you use the
segmentation strategy in (2)
above?
After answering the questions above,
you can go ahead to state the problems
you want to solve
Second, how big
is the problem
you want to
solve?
Following the
problem
statement,
you should:
Provide a detailed customer
profile. This will build on the
brief description of the target
audience made earlier.
Estimate the population size of
your target audience (stating all
assumptions made)
To build a customer profile, do the tasks shown on the left picture and
compress your findings to get a pictorial view of your customer (right).
