This document discusses qualitative research methods and designs. It provides examples of different qualitative research types, including phenomenological studies. The document emphasizes that research design requires knowledge and skills to integrate various components in a logical way. It also notes that qualitative research aims to gain deep contextual understanding of users through non-numerical observation and interviews. Mental health awareness is highlighted as an important topic that can be studied using a phenomenological research design to understand human experiences related to psychological well-being.

1. ACTIVITY 1: TRANSFORMING LEARNED CONCEPTS
1. Qualitive designs are also called qualitative research types because they focus on
obtaining detailed and in-depth information about a particular topic or issue.
2. Designing a research study requires knowledge insights and skills that are largely
independent of personality.
3. Research design refers to the overall strategy that you choose to integrate the different
components of the study in a coherent and logical way.
4. Yes, because when doing research, you need a qualitative data. As researchers review
the data collected, repeated ideas and concepts or elements become apparent.
5. Disadvantages associated with historical research include bias, inaccessibility and
incompleteness.
6. No because a researcher must have a patience in conducting research so that he/she can
deal with other matters.
7. Yes. Its legitimate research method whose purpose is to enable us to learn from history.
8. Yes. In choosing a qualitative research design, you need higher order of thinking skills to
rationally select the best one that fits you or the group.
9. Qualitative research is methodology researchers use to gain deep contextual
understanding of users via non-numerical means and direct observations.
10. The research design that i would like to base on my work is the phenomenology because
it focuses on understanding human experiences. Also, because it only uses interview for
data collection.
ACTIVITY 3: PRACTICE TIME
RESREACH TITLE: MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS
RESEARCH DESIGN: PHENOMENOLOGICAL STUDIES
Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social-wellbeing. It affects how
we think, feel and act. Mentalhealth awareness is the recognition that our psychological wellbeing
is an important part of our own health, productivity and happiness as well as the wellbeing of our
communities. A lot of people were involved in psychological acts that leads them into a mental
health facility due to stress, depression, anxiety and pressure. According to the PSA report, the
suicidal death spikes to 4,420 in 2020, and on the year 2021, more than 700,000 die due to
suicide every year.
