they can create a very realistic illusion of a 3 dimensional world.

Objects appear smaller as they get farther away.

5. POSITION
Objects appear higher on the page as they get
farther away.

6. OVERLAP
Overlapping objects show which is farther.

7. DETAIL
Objects have less detail as they get farther away.

8. SATURATION OF COLOR
Close objects are brightest and sharpest. Objects in the
distance appear pale and washed out.

9. ATMOSPHERIC PERSPECTIVE
Objects in the distance may appear bluish.

10. WARM COLORS ADVANCE
COOL COLORS RECEDE
Warm colors may appear closer. Cool colors may appear farther
away.
