• Bharti Foundation
– Bharti Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Bharti Group Companies.
– The prime objective is to bridge the existing education divide and make quality
education accessible to underprivileged children in rural India.
– The Foundation aims to help underprivileged children and young people of our country
realize their potential.
• Satya Bharti School Program
– The Satya Bharti School Program is the flagship program of Bharti Foundation.
– It aims to deliver free quality education to underprivileged children, with special focus
on the girl child across rural India.
– Present Operational Status:
• Number of Schools Operational: 254
• States of Operation: West Bengal, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar
Pradesh & Tamil Nadu
• Number of Students Enrolled: Over 38,000
3. About the Community
Geographical Location: sangawala, a village as it is resembled by its
name, majority of population is of Meena,Raigar,Bunkar, community
coming under Sc/ST category. Centrally located in the Kant gram
panchayat.
Cultural Background:- people eat bajra and wheat. Males wear dhoti
kurta and pagdi and females wear sari and ghaghra lugdi. They celebrate
all indian festivals.
Role of Satya Bharti School in the Village: Our school is supported
and an example of real model of public-private-partnership. In spite of
several private schools the parents wants to admit their children in our
schools and supporting us. Satya Bharti School is not only proved to be
the school but a movement to change whole locality with respect to many
social evils prior existing in the village but through our regular
efforts, transformation is happening.
4. We ‘Felt’:
1 lack of PHC (primary Health Center)in the village.
2 Problem of Local Transportation.
3 Availability of school or higher education.
We ‘Felt’:
All the school students along with there parents and all the villagers
(whole community)
They said that they face problems regarding health as there is not
the facility of doctor or medicines in the village.
5. IMAGINE:
Lack of primary health center in the village.
Availability of ambulance from near by village.
Arrangement of doctor or ANM for regular
checkup.
Construction of PHC within village.

8. Impact on Us:
Encouraged to take initiatives.
Can plan and implement.
Enhanced leadership and team spirit among the
students.
Teachers got appreciation and positive responses from
the community, which added jewel to their rapport and
identification as a social activist for a social change.
9. Experience of Community Members & Teachers:
-The initiative taken by the children’s of the school
also motivated many others of the village. (Mr.
Gulab, Lawyer)
- The issue related to SC and ST are good
enough but still the PHC issue was pending but
now they state the matter as a new form. (Mr.
Dunar Singh Meena)
- we shall over come to this issue soon, and
realization through the children’s aware us the
importance of the need of PHC (Prabhu Devi
, Sarpanch)
10. Impact on Community:
The community members realize the issue and
problems faced by them for the treatment of their
dear ones especially at night.
-They took the initiative and also with the help of
school teacher’s reach the sarpanch give the
application for establishing of the new PHC within
the village, requirement of ambulance, ANM and
a Doctor.
- The sarpanch also talking to the block level for
further course of action.
11. The Road Ahead…..(in the next 3 months)
- Meeting with the officials at block level, district
level and after that the village team lead by the
sarpanch will move to Secretariat for further
getting the PHC to be established within the
village.
- Various health awareness programme has
been started with the help of local grops, ICDS
SHG’s, and other community group’s are
managin te things and also making proper
planning to reach the hospitals at proper time
for the serious cases.
