Investment opportunity: Planet-MarketPlace.com is a group of B2B online trading platforms for
professionals, aimed at facilitating sellers and buyers of certain products to identify and meet
each other via dedicated product platform by posting product offers and product requests
online.
The main objective is to become the global leader of B2B portals for various (food)
commodities and a selection of other industries. The strategy of Planet-MarketPlace.com
entails applying the concept to various products where there is a gap for such a concept. The
total number of platforms is expected to be not less than 10 various product group platforms
(e.g. fish, grain, plants, flowers, cattle, fruit, wood, vegetables, coffee / tee).
Planet-MarketPlace.com is currently operating two online trading platforms, one of which is for
a commodity product in the food industry (Meat-MakretPlace.com) and the other is designed
for trade in new and second-hand wind turbines (WindTurbines-MarketPlace.com). The last
one is recently launched. Fish-MarketPlace.com, the third platform, is currently under
development.

Background
The concept came about because of the notion that the entire meat and poultry market is
based on mainly “phone and e-mail” trade, which results in a very inefficient supply-chain.
Often it happens that meat products pass two to three traders before getting to the final
customer, leading to an additional 20 - 40% markup.
The current meat and poultry market is mainly based on “accidental” contact between a buyer
and a seller. This inefficient system of trade implies in general an extraordinary increase in
prices and inefficient use of product stock. It also results in waste, as the time that supply
chain spans, exceeds the expiration date of products. The storage space (often outsourced to
cold stores) can be very costly for these companies.
International trade is a multi-billion Euro B2B market. The trade is worldwide oriented,
however, there is often no single trade platform for a specific industry. These markets need one
platform where the sellers and buyers can meet 24/7.
After the expiration date the manufacturer often experiences significant losses. Moreover,
before meat can be incinerated or modified for the cattle-fodder, package should be removed.
All over the world, the losses amount to billions of Euro.
In other commodities industries the situation is similar to poultry and meat market. Other
industries as wind turbines sector are a very young and still developing industry, where till now
no (independent) trade portals are launched, so the markets are far from transparent.
In general our main perspective is that internet will be developing more towards target portals
designed for particular users with all necessary adjustments; instead of combining everything
on one portal and not being able to offer all required features.

The business model is based on earning revenue on premium memberships (general
memberships will remain without charge) and the sale of advertisement space.
The main financial reason for creating a separate portal for each product type, as opposed to a
generic website, is that there is much more space to sell advertorial banners. At the same time,
the marginal costs of launching and hosting every new portal are decreasing.
In order to optimize the use of the first mover’s advantage, new portals should be launched
before competition comes up with a comparable concept. This requires additional investments
in new portals and a considerable marketing effort.
Launching an individual portal for each industry offers at least three advantages:
• A visitor from the industry knows exactly that the portal is specifically designed for his industry
• Every portal can be adapted to the specific requirements of a particular industry
• The promotion of a product-specific portal is easier than that of a general portal, since the
marketing campaign can be focused on one specific industry

• More than 3500 man-hours have been spent on development of the portals
• All portals are actively promoted (exhibitions, online marketing, direct phone contact, etc.)
• Meat- and WindTurbines- MarketPlace.com have approximately 2,000 registered users,
• In many sectors, competing portals are not present or either not user-friendly and therefore not
popular
• Portals are developed on a very high standard and offer several unique features to its users
• Concrete plans are present to launch within 1 year 5 to 6 new portals
