Titanic Thesis Statement
The Titanic may be one of the most famous and well known shipwrecks of our time. Just about everyone learns of the tragedy in school and how it
was a complete accident. Information has been found that point to the tragedy not being what we think it is. There is evidence that shows that the
ship thought to be the Titanic may actually be named the Olympic, and may have been used in an insurance scam. This evidence includes pictures
showing different amounts of port holes and even people working on the ship coming forward. It has yet to be proven if this is 100% true, but most
would agree that all of this points to it being true. Everyone knows the story of the Titanic. The ship was on its maiden voyage when it hit an iceberg
and sank, leading to the death of more than 1,500 people ("Titanic" A+E Networks). It was a horrible event, but it may have all been planned by the
company that owned the ship. White Star Line owned both the Titanic and its sister ship, the Olympic. The...show more content...
Why is that they had such a difficult time finding people to work on the ship if so many people we're out of work? It may have been that there

the titanic was going to sink and were warned. An example of one of these men is J.P. Morgan. He canceled his trip on the Titanic just a few days

Thesis Statement : Early Anxiety Essay
Thesis Statement: Early Anxiety is stemmed from many factors, however the main cause of anxiety in adolescents is directly related to parenting and
/or family influences.
As a child, life was hectic from the beginning. Dad was in and out of jail, and when he was out my mom and him and my mother would indulge in hard
drugs. Don 't get me wrong, when you 're so twisted on drugs there is only so much your body and mind is capable of doing, right? Since I could
remember I've been the boss, the keeper of the responsibilities, almost like the parent of my parents. Throughout school, i had constant anxiety about
school, worrying about my little brother and wondering if my parents were okay. Fast forward to the present time, still on a daily basis I struggle with
severe Anxiety. It truly never went away, it only got worse. If I would have had a better mother daughter, or father daughter relationship or didn't have
to watch my parrents struggle with their anxiety and addictions, and i had to worry a lot less I would have never developed this anxiety.
Harpster 2.

Developing a Thesis Statement
Developing a Thesis Statement After choosing a topic, it is important to understand the role a thesis statement in the essay. A thesis statement serves
as a road sign that gives sign of what the writing is intended to tackle; it is the answer to the question asked. A thesis statement is an assertion; it
takes a stand announcing the writer's position on the topic. It is important for the writer to explore the topic to find a particular narrow subject. It is
also important for the writer to know the purpose and audience of the paper. A thesis statement for a narrative essay needs to be vivid and
captivating. The starting point is asking a question. A thesis can be developed by answering a question. For example a family reunion, what role does
a family reunion play in strengthening the family? Then formulation of a sentence that serves as a thesis: "family reunion plays a key role of
strengthening family ties by..." here it is advisable for the writer to follow a rigid structure, know the basic formula to keep the statement within the
acceptable length as well as to organize the argument. In addition, following a pattern that holds the core idea will aid in developing a clear subject.
Here, an idea does something because [reason(s)], Family reunion strengthens family ties [they help keep fond memories]. This then becomes, because
[reason(s)], [idea] [does something], because [they help keep fond memories], [family reunion] [strengthens family ties]. This is refined to although

Remember that a tentative thesis statement is not something set in stone; rather, it is something meant to help you focus your analysis and research so
that the writing task becomes manageable. You should not attempt to start collecting and analyzing evidence until you have an idea of the main
argument you would like make in your paper. Generating the thesis statement, then, can be thought of as a recursive process. In the early stages of
planning and writing, the tentative thesis helps you focus on the evidence in a certain way, but as you get further along in the writing process the
analysis of evidence should also help you clarify the thesis statement (Rosenwasser et al. 132). The writers of Writing Analytically recommend that you
ask yourself the following questions as you go through the process of generating a main claim for your essay:
3
What kinds of patterns or implications emerge when I look closely at my evidence?
What kind of evidence and support do I need to support my tentative thesis? What kind of evidence cannot be adequately accounted for by my tentative
thesis? How can I explain the mismatches between my thesis statement and my selected evidence?
How can I rewrite my thesis statement in order to accommodate the evidence that doesn't fit?
This practice of constantly readjusting the thesis statement to match the evidence and analysis will ultimately lead you to write a polished and
defensible thesis statement in your final

He doesn't even know that it exists. The second contact he has with humans, they are being violent. They are not demonstrating any sort of reason,

–When the creature finally decided to come into contact with the family, he waited until the "old man, at his own desire, was left alone in the cottage".
(p. 107) He knocked, and upon being admitted, made conversation with the old man. The creature explained that he was "an unfortunate and deserted

Yet much research evidence suggests that overly positive self–evaluations, exaggerated perceptions of control or mastery, and unrealistic optimism are characteristics of normal human thought. Remember that a tentative thesis statement is not something set in stone; rather, it is something meant to help you focus your analysis and research so that the writing task becomes manageable. You should not attempt to start collecting and analyzing evidence until you have an idea of the main argument you would like make in your paper. Generating the thesis statement, then, can be thought of as a recursive process. In the early stages of planning and writing, the tentative thesis helps you focus on the evidence in a certain way, but as you get further along in the writing process the analysis of evidence should also help you clarify the thesis statement (Rosenwasser et al. 132). The writers of Writing Analytically recommend that you ask yourself the following questions as you go through the process of generating a main claim for your essay: 3 What kinds of patterns or implications emerge when I look closely at my evidence?
