Our film opening includes two company idents to match conventions and establishes the setting with an establishing long shot later in the opening. There is fast-paced editing at the start as the patient escapes and digetic sounds like sirens and breathing are used, along with non-digetic piano music. The opening somewhat focuses on the main character but does not make clear if it is the doctor or patient.

Opening shot ELS Our opening shot isn’t an ELS however we do
uses one a few shots later to establish the
setting for the audience.
Lots of shot variation There Is a varied amount of shot variety but not
as much as in some of the openings we looked at
as a group
Fast paced editing There is fast paced editing certainly at the start
of the opening as the patient is escaping
Digetic sound We used digetic sound a lot, for things such as
the siren and the breathing of the patient
Non-Digetic sound For the first few shot we used the piano sound,
and the sound of the music in the bedroom.
Focus on the main character To some extent I would say that we focused on
the main character. Our preferred reading is that
the doctor is the main character however the
audience could be misled as it isn’t made clear.
Mise En Scene We included key pieces of mise en scene such as
doctors ID and the costumes of our characters.
