Dear Mr Chaloner,
I am honored to have the opportunity to offer a personal character reference for Curtis
Brown. I have known Curtis for several years and have been very impressed with the
man he is. I have seen him in leadership roles at our church and have watched his
interaction with many students of all ages. Last year I was the director for our
elementary-aged children’s missions study on Wednesday nights and I depended on him
to help lead our first grade missions class for boys. He was always there and the children
were very attentive when he talked. He did an excellent job. This year he is working
with boys in the 5th
and 6th
grade and again does a great job sharing the Word of God
from his heart.
On a more personal note, he has been a great mentor to my oldest son, who is now 20.
My son is a hard worker and driven, but lacked focus and direction. Curtis would invite
Johnathan over to his house to do some yard work for him and would use those
opportunities to talk with him. Curtis would even call him up from time to time and
counsel him; and Johnathan would call Curtis at times. I am very grateful to Curtis for
the time he took to speak wisdom and truth to my son.
I value Curtis’s opinions and spiritual insights. I look forward to seeing how God will
continue to use Curtis in the future.
