Editor's Notes
Everyone must Respect fellow human beings. This is an essential requirement of living in a society. We certainly owe a basic level of Respect to others. The church, Mosque or Other places of worship all shape character for development. They offer services, have leadership, encourage participation and learning.
This is what promotes models of justice and respect for freedom for all through pluralism in the best interest for stability and values of co-existence.
Surat Al-Hujurat [49:13] verse 13] - O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another.
The Qur'an states, “If God willed He would make you one community” (Al-Qur'an 5: 48). Another verse is that “If God willed, all human beings ..
Matthew 20:1-16: "For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard. This is the early-bird workers’ cue to get mad that the johnny-come-lately folks are being paid first. And they do get mad—but not about that, exactly. They think they should be paid more, not first. So the story abruptly stops being about reversing the first and the last and starts being about equality, and how people don’t always like it.
These are in line with JISRA aims for social development
PROMOTING MODELS OF JUSTICE AND RESPECT FOR FREEDOM FOR ALL
Connectors and Dividers are key to identifying what promotes justice in our communities.
Issues emerging to what promotes justice in our communities are critical to Transitional justice initiatives that are often undertaken in societies emerging from violent conflict and/or authoritarian rule. “Transitional justice” refers to a set of judicial and non-judicial approaches that societies may use to deal with the legacy of massive and systematic human rights violations, to contribute to fairer, more democratic societies in which human rights are respected and protected. There is no blueprint for whether, when or how a society deals with the past, but the most common transitional justice mechanisms include: prosecutions through domestic courts, internationalised or hybrid tribunals, or the International Criminal Court (ICC); truth-seeking; reparations for victims; and the reform of public institutions, particularly in the justice and security sectors.
