America Green Environment
"America has a problem and the world has a problem," (Friedman 1) and this problem stems from our effect on the environment. As America lives off
of the land and improve it for our needs, we are not taking into consideration our need for a clean environment. Pollution and weakening species are
continuing to plague our world, creating unsafe and unhealthy conditions for all life on planet earth. Although, recent years have shown small progress
into improving the environment's condition, the United States has not been able to pick up true and steady growth on the green movement. The United
States' environment will continue to dwindle until the mass mobilization of environmentalism is completely backed by governmental authority.

The environment is a necessity. Not always do we perceive helping our citizens to be taxing and taking money; although when this money goes
towards the living conditions of our people, it is definitely a benefit to all. Although money is currently flying out of American homes to pay for cheap
and damaging energy sources, the actual use of this energy depicts a harsh reality: "a large portion of that energy is wasted" ("Energy Savers" 1). The
current state of our energy uses is not only hurting the environment, but also our American pockets. Non–green energy sources are also non–efficient,
and this leads to a drop in our economy. If only the United States were able to help our citizens turn to renewable sources, we would be able to also
save money in the long run. Solar power for example is costly, although clean for the environment and beneficial as sunlight recharges homes at no
additional cost. Additionally, our world is becoming "hot, flat, and crowded" (Friedman 2). Our environment is our home, and we are not properly
taking care of our home. Because of our poor aid to the environment, we ourselves are suffering in a world that is only becoming polluted, unhealthy,
and a wasteland. An unhealthy environment is slowly contaminating our population with smog from factories, carbon filled air from automobiles, and
much more. Although the United States does not want to drastically hurt our American economy, the environment needs money and support so that
our citizens can gain benefit from the overall outcome of green

Green Energy
In the environment there are many concerns on how to make this a better place to live. One of the biggest issues is our energy and power sources.
Green energy is a term used for sources of power and energy that are environmentally friendly. Basically this includes anything that is renewable energy.
Renewable energy is considered energy that is constantly being replaced such as wood, vegetable matter, and trash. Green energy 's main focus is to
use sources that can cut down on pollution. Some of these sources of power and energy are Biomass energy, geothermal energy, hydropower, nuclear
energy, solar energy, wind energy and tidal energy. People hope that these will help use more natural sources to produce energy. In several countries you

Next time you get on your computer you can set up your computer to where the sleep mode is on and also the hibernate comes on after thirty
minutes. Another thing is taking control of the temperature. During the winter you can set your thermostat at 68 degrees or less during the day
and 55 degrees at night before you go to sleep. During the summer you can set it at 78 degrees or more. Also you can set your thermostat on your
water heater between 120 and 130 degrees. The only drawback with this one is you can take really long hot showers. So with all these information
you can decide if you are for or against green energy. I believe we should start doing something about our environment before we are too late. I
personally am for green energy. You don 't necessarily have to go out get green energy as your electricity source but doing little can always help our
universe. The good green energy is that there are several sources of energy that we can use and if using these types of energy help clean up our air

The Greenhouse Effect On The Environment
The greenhouse effect occurs when the major gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen oxide and water vapour which then will trap heat in the
atmosphere therefore those gasses act as a thick layer outside the planet surrounding the whole planet to control the climate (REF). If we did not have
this layer that surrounds the planet and keeps it warm, the temperature would drop and it would not be inhabitable for humans. (REF)
Containing this heat causes heat waves, droughts, and climate changes which could change our way of living on this planet.
There are different types of gasses in the atmosphere, some are natural and some are manmade gasses, all of which are contribute to the greenhouse
effect. Natural emissions such as:

There are a lot of manmade gasses which have been released into the atmosphere which have added to the green house layers these gasses such as
sulphur hexafluoride, hydrofluorocarbons this results in global warming which means heat that would normally be escaping through the greenhouse
layers remains trapped which then start to cause the temperature to rise.
Increasing the greenhouse effect can lead to global warming and climate change which will change the way we live.
Deforestation: There is a lot of manmade gasses and human activities that are causing global warming and climate change such as deforestation, this has
many negative effects on the planet and there are a huge amount of reasons why.
According to WWO (2016) "Humans have used forests for fuel for thousands of years, and 2.6 billion people today still use biomass–mainly wood and
charcoal–for cooking".
The main reasons for deforestation would be for profit such as money or providing for one's family also a lot of farmers are use acres of forests for
agriculture as the human population increases dramatically by the second the need for more food is needed so the only way to compensate for this is
to plant crops

Green Architecture Essay
Green Architecture is a method to reduce the impact on our environment by using natural resources like energy, water, and the materials that are used
in the structure recycled materials or the fixtures used in the home with energy saving features, as well as making a healthier environment. With
high–efficiency windows and high value insulation in the walls and floors you're your energy would take less too cool or heat up that area.

bigger than sky lights or more windows are used to bring in more heat.
With the landscape of the outside in mind as well if you have plants that require more attention then that cost more energy to take care of them. Think
of plants that use less water conserving energy will take less to heat or cool your home if you were to have an asphalt drive then it will put off more
heat making your use of air conditioning higher to keep the home cool use a natural source of rock to lessen the energy in the home.
If you were to do your laundry or the main energy usage on a sunny or windy day your going to have more energy to complete your entire task then
you wouldn't be using your back energy to complete them that is going require the most of your energy sources.
Making a home with multi function energy sources gives a wide variety of endless energy with all of them combined it can easily give energy to a
home. There is going to be sunny days for your solar energy windy and rainy days for your energy as well so having all sources will make an easier
life for your home and less hectic.

Green Marketing Essay example
In today's day and age, everyone is concerned about the environment. Our society is increasingly encouraged to "go green," to do our part in making
the world a cleaner, more eco–friendly place. Green marketing is one major strategy being used to promote such efforts, but is it effective? There is
some debate about this concept, including the history of green marketing, the problems with green marketing so far, the effectiveness of marketing
schemes like Sunchips and Toyota, and the strategies that could be used to increase the ability of green marketing. While protecting our planet is a
noble concept, its execution seems to be a little vague. Of all the aspects concerning green marketing, one thing is clear: our planet still has a long

Sunchips provides not only a "healthier" chip but also uses renewable energy and a biodegradable bag and encourages consumers to join their eco
movement. Other companies, such as Pepsi and Volkswagen, are joining in too. The "Refresh Everything" project launched by the major soda chain is
attempting to make its product more environmentally friendly, and Volkswagen is taking even bigger strides with its movement, "The Fun Theory,"
which encourages customers to be green while making the process fun (Park 1). Other major corporations jumping on the green bandwagon include
Hewlett Packard, which boasts its recycling efforts and energy efficiency, and Ben and Jerry's with its effort to "Lick Global Warming" and employ
other eco–conscious practices (Rottkamp 1). While these strategies have shed light on being friendly to our planet, the fact remains that the large
portion of our population simply is not embracing it. One major problem as far as companies using green marketing and why it isn't working is that
the relatively vague definition of green marketing leaves a lot of room for loopholes. Green marketing, by simply being defined as "the marketing of
products that are assumed to be environmentally safe," allows companies to take advantage of this idea even if their products are not the best example
of green ones (McClendon 1). Most companies also don't practice what they preach in such

The Benefits of the Green Movement Essay
The Green movement began in the Western World during the 1970's around the time of the Vietnam War. The green movement is a social movement
regarding concerns for environmental conservation and improvements to the current health of the environment. The Green movement also promotes
the conservation, restoration, and the overall improvement of our environment. Many people disagree with the green movement and its values because
they don't see the immediate benefits from them. However, supporting the green movement by recycling, researching alternative energy sources, and
mandating eco–friendly laws will lead to a better, greener, country. One fairly simple way that people can immediately contribute to the green
movement is by recycling....show more content...
Another easy way to support the green movement is through the research of alternative energy sources. By switching to renewable energy sources we
could drastically reduce or even eliminate the harmful emissions caused by the burning of fossil fuels. "If 50 – 100 billion dollars were spent
worldwide on the development of alternative energy sources we could reduce the world's consumption of fossil fuels by 25% and reduce greenhouse
gas emissions by 50%."
(Levi, Michael) There are many different ways to harness alternative sources. Some examples of renewable energy sources include Biomass Energy,
Wind Energy, Solar Energy, Geothermal Energy, and Hydroelectric Energy. "Combined with the use of recycling, the use of clean alternative energies
such as the home use of solar power systems will help ensure man's survival into the 21st century and beyond." (Alternative Energy – Wind, Solar,
Hydro and Other Alt Energy Sources for Home Power) So far the most effective form of alternative energy currently available is solar. "A 1.5
kilowatt PV system will keep more than 110,000 pounds of carbon dioxide, the chief greenhouse gas, out of the atmosphere over the next 25 years.
The same solar system will also prevent the need to burn 60,000 pounds of coal. With

Green Chemistry Essay
Green Chemistry
Many companies all over the world produce chemicals for their products that are harmful to the environment, human health, and to all living species.
Green Chemistry is the use of chemistry for the prevention of chemical pollution to the environment by using chemicals that are benign, or not harmful.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that the mission of Green Chemistry is, "To promote innovative chemical technologies that reduce
or eliminate the use or generation of hazardous substances in the design, manufacture, and use of chemical products." Green Chemistry contains any

The EPA and the Syracuse Research Corporation developed the Chemistry Expert System (GCES) which is used to develop and analyze the various
principles of Green Chemistry. They find sources of waste and evaluate the amounts and risks produced. After, they explore opportunities to solve these
problems. To help them achieve this, the Alternative Solvents Database (SolvDB) was constructed to help chemists and researchers quickly find
alternatives to the harmful chemicals being used at the time. The Syracuse Research Center now has the largest database for this type of information.
They are also currently developing a PBT profiler. PBT is the prediction of the persistence, bioaccumulation, and toxicity of chemical substances. This
profiler will screen for the PBT's in chemicals so that the harmful chemicals will become known, and maybe even changed.
It has also been a major concern by many organizations to educate people about Green Chemistry. The objective of these groups is to spread the
awareness of Green Chemistry principles, alternatives, practices and their benefits in the educational system. This would mean at all levels from
graduate, undergraduate and even kindergarten to 12 programs. This is so people will stop using products that are hazardous to themselves and the
ecosystem and become more aware of the dangers and unfavorable effects it has had on the

There are many companies out there that claim to be "green". But are they really and how much impact does it have on the environment? Labels such
as "organic", "biodegradable", "earth–friendly", vegan and "Fair Trade" are everywhere in today's market. These labels are marketing tools used to
influence consumers.
Greenwashing is defined as "The dissemination of misleading information by an organization to conceal its abuse of the environment in order to present

Similarly "cage free" , according to Consumer Reports, means that the hens do not live in cages, but do live their entire lives inside barns, usually in
cramped conditions. "Pasture raised " chickens are those that may live in cages, though the cages are moved around the pasture. Consumer reports also

Similarly, consumers will pay extra for organic chicken products, believing them to be synthetic hormone free, when the FDA prohibits synthetic

which are released into the environment during manufacturing and use. They have been known to cause significant decrease in fertility and
significantly lower birthrates in dogs and mice. Note that animal testing was involved, a fact that many purchasers of green products would not have
considered or been comfortable with. In contrast, S.E.

Healthy and Green Environment – control on carbon footprints!
Introduction The literal meaning of the terminology Carbon print is the amount of Carbon emitted by an individual in one year of time span. Carbon
Dioxide produced from many sources and is the prime gas responsible for global warming and climate changes in our environment. Define Healthy and
green environment?
In terms of a layman, the answer would be, basically it's the population that creates pollution nuisance in environment with the emission of various
gases, wherein the major portion lies with the Carbon Dioxide Co2 which is involved vigorously in creating Global warming. Who is accountable for
Global Warming?
Well the responsibility lays in us the "humans" OR calls ourselves the "devastators".
With the each scientific discovery and technology we get close to the "development" and closer to the "devastation and disaster". The amount of pace
we are travelling it puts in doubt if there will be a healthy environment left for coming generation or just the life full with intoxication?
We human beings knowing the consequences avoid the same, because we don't want to forego our comfort zone. Is carbon prints becoming high alert?
Because of our life style we deliberately or in–deliberately abuse natural resources produced by mother Earth in various forms– On daily basis we have
been polluting land, air and water; since ages. Most of us don't bother ourselves about the waste we create, but thanks to

How Does The Greenhouse Effect The Environment?
Title– How does the "Greenhouse Effect" affect the environment?
Problem– There are several different kinds of gases produced from greenhouses into our environment and the atmosphere. Moreover, the percentages of
those gases in our environment have been growing exponentially and the people of those environments need to be aware of these gases and how they
help or harm the environment.
Variables–
Independent– The independent variables will have thirty plants with excess carbon dioxide.
Dependent– The dependent variables will be the height of the plants and how the plants will compare and contrast between the experimental groups
Constant– The constants in this experiment will be the plants that are put in a normal, stable environment.
Controlled– The controlled variable will be the thirty plants that are given excess carbon dioxide.
Hypothesis– If excess carbon dioxide is added to plants' environment/normal habitat, then the growth of those plants will increase exponentially.

Going Green Essay
Going Green Lately the phrase "going green" has become a part of everyday discussion and debate. People are being told to turn off the lights, buy
energy–saving appliances, and drive less. What people are not being told is why, specifically. Global warming is the increase of the Earth's average
temperature. Greenhouse gases are the cause of this problem; carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide and methane (1). Normally the earth's atmosphere lets
these gases in but does not release all of it. The excess gases keep the plant warm enough to sustain life. However over time, the atmosphere has
sustained damage from chemicals, like the ones released in fossil fuels, and now the planet is heating up too much too fast. Even just a few degrees

Most hybrids run use internal combustion engines and electrical motors (2). Internal combustion engines require fuel to create a combustion reaction
which powers the engine. An electric motor uses electrical energy to produce mechanical energy which can then run the motor. An on–board
rechargeable energy storage system (RESS) stores enough energy, which is also rechargeable, to run the electric motor (2). To lower fuel
consumption, the RESS regenerates power, or energy, through regenerative breaking or sometimes through the combustion engine. Regenerative
breaking uses some of the energy produced by the car when accelerating and stores it. This is why hybrid cars cannot compete in the market for
speed. In more modern models, a mechanism allows for energy to be taken from the combustion engine to charge the cars battery or electrical motor
(2). In the sense of "going green", hybrids reduce idle emissions by shutting off the ICE during idle times, like stop lights and traffic, and then
restarting it when the car needs to move. A smaller and more efficient engine also cuts back on power compared to large engines where all the parts
may not be used, but need to be powered, thus reducing emissions (2). Other benefits from HEVs are noise–level reduction and air pollution. The goal
of hybrid manufactures is to run vehicles without the use of fuel. However, this is a new market and the

Green areas/spaces are areas of grass, trees or vegetations set aside for recreational, sporting or aesthetic purposes in an urban environment. Green
areas/spaces helps the town or city to improve the life style of the people physically and health wise , they provide a place for recreation e.g.
jogging, walking, cycling, meeting people and also they help reduce the stress of the people in the community from the chaos city . Some examples
of such places include higher education campuses, parks/gardens and institutional or corporate grounds. Green area/space provides a town/city a
relief psychologically and promotes a healthy life style. (Spring gate, 2008). Green areas/spaces aides the location for living and where to locate a
business for a person in a community. Green spaces are multi–functional; they are used in many different ways. Green areas/spaces are owned and
managed by either the government or private investors.
Green areas/spaces can also be defined as a an area which provides light , air ,relaxation and recreational space for a community , which are generally

People throw these bags away anyways so why not just take a reusable bag that can be used multiple times instead of only once. In addition, the
plastic bags take a long time to decompose so you are harming the environment. Instead of creating so much garbage, you can bring your reusable
bag to the store so that you can certify that you are one less person that is filling up our landfills. The more people that reuse their items, the more
safer the environment becomes, not only for yourself but for everyone. After discussing reusing, we can discuss about reducing. Reducing is
another way to go green and help the environment. By reducing the way you utilize your materials you create less garbage on the planet. One of
the ways you can help is by avoiding using materials such as paper plates, cups, forks and spoons because they create a lot of waste. Instead of
using these materials, you can use dishes that can be washed and reused. It does not take very long to wash a couple of dishes. Eventually we are
going to run out of a place to store our garbage. Our landfills are already filling up rapidly so you can avoid contributing to the overfilling. Another
way of reducing is by avoiding wasting materials like paper. You should use all materials wisely. These simple things can contribute a lot even though
you may think that these things are unnecessary. Our top priority right now should be to do everything

The Importance Of The Green Environment
Society as a whole is struggling to balance old dominant western environment ideals with new green environment ideals. As science shows the effects
of climate change, and the detriments of a Western consumerist culture on the environment, many people are shifting towards a more green,
eco–friendly philosophy. This shift of being conscious of theenvironment, has prompted some people and companies to make honest changes to
preserve and help the environment. This starting shift in society of being eco–friendly has prompted many businesses to jump on this trend, as it looks
better to consumers and often saves or makes the companies money. Despite, this new societal shift toward a green paradigm, many parts of society
want to hold onto to dominant western ideals of controlling and using the environment's resources to the advantage of humans. Society is currently
wrestling, with whether to follow the ideas of the dominant western paradigm, or the newer green paradigm. Many parts of society are shifting towards
a green paradigm, but is this for genuine environmental reasons, or to make money and products, that continue to feed into the consumerism ideals of
the old dominant western paradigm? The dominant western environmental paradigm can be described as, "the anthropocentric belief that humans are
separate from and superior to the natural environment, which has status only as 'resource' or commodity available for exploitation through technology. It
has no intrinsic worth."

Need: With gas and food prices going up at a amazing rate, we need to think of ways to help out our economy and environment.
Credibility: I have been going green for the past couple of years. Although it might seem like a big waste of time. There are many benefits
Thesis: You can go green..

C. Drive Smarter. Set your cruise control on the highway for up to a 15 percent improvement in mileage. Driving less aggressively is the single most
effective way to save gasoline, accelerate out of lights more gently, avoid rapid braking, and only drive as fast as you must.
4. The fourth way you can go green is to skip the plastics. A. Use a water filter to purify tap water instead of buying bottled water. Plastic bottles
generate large amounts of container waste. If you think gas is high, do the math on how much a gallon of water is if you buy it one bottle at a
time. B. Bring a reusable water bottle, preferably aluminum rather than plastic, with you when traveling or at work. C. If you go to the grocery
store, make sure and use the paper bags instead of plastic because plastic bags clog the dumps and never decompose. D. You can make very effective,
non toxic cleaning products whenever you need them. All you need are a few simple ingredients like baking soda, vinegar, lemon, and soap.
5. The fifth way you can go green is to shop in bulk or buy used. A. Consider going to garage sales or thrift stores instead of buying an item new. B.
Go online to find new or gently used secondhand products. You can use sites such as e–bay or Craig list. C. Buy in bulk.

Global Warming is due to the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is a naturally occurring process that aids in heating the Earth's surface and
atmosphere. It results from the fact that certain atmospheric gases, such as carbon dioxide, water vapor, and methane, are able to change the energy
balance of the planet by being able to absorb longwave radiation from the Earth's surface. Without the greenhouse effect, life on this planet would
probably not exist as the average temperature of the Earth would be a chilly –18 degrees Celsius, rather than the present 15 degrees Celsius.
As energy from the sun passes through the atmosphere a number of things take place. A portion of the energy (26 %...show more content...
The now warmer atmospheric greenhouse gas molecules begin radiating longwave energy in all directions. Over 90 % of this emission of longwave
energy is directed back to the Earth's surface where it once again is absorbed by the surface. The heating of the ground by the longwave radiation
causes the ground surface to once again radiate repeating the cycle described above, again and again, until no more longwave is available for absorption.
The amount of heat energy added to the atmosphere by the greenhouse effect is controlled by the concentration of greenhouse gases in the Earth's
atmosphere. All of the major greenhouse gases have increased in concentration since the beginning of the industrial revolution (about 1700 A.D.). As a
result of these higher concentrations, scientists predict that the greenhouse effect will be enhanced and the Earth's climate will become warmer.
Predicting the amount of warming is accomplished by computer modeling. Computer models suggest that a doubling of the concentration of the main
greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide, may raise the average global temperature between 1 and 3 degrees Celsius. However, the numeric equations of
computer models do not accurately simulate the effects of a number of possible negative feedbacks. For example, many of the models cannot properly

Some global leader countries in renewable energy production have already suspended implementation of green technologies. At the same time,
Kazakhstan who is reach for oil, gas and uranium plans to spend big funds for alternative energy. Minister of environment protection of the Republic of
Kazakhstan Nurlan Kapparov has mentioned several times that implementation of Green economy in Kazakhstan will require 3–4 billion US dollars
per year. Considering non–transparent character of Kazakhstan's state purchasing system, it might become a new source for corruption mechanisms in
the economy which will reduce effectiveness of the Green economy initiative.
In case Government obliges large companies to implement and proactively use renewable energy and increase energy efficiency it might result in
reduction of their productivity and increase of cost for their final products which will result in losing their competitiveness. "From one side, the energy
consumption will be reduced, however, Gross Domestic Product will go down as well." Given recent challenges in

America Green Environment

  • 1. America Green Environment "America has a problem and the world has a problem," (Friedman 1) and this problem stems from our effect on the environment. As America lives off of the land and improve it for our needs, we are not taking into consideration our need for a clean environment. Pollution and weakening species are continuing to plague our world, creating unsafe and unhealthy conditions for all life on planet earth. Although, recent years have shown small progress into improving the environment's condition, the United States has not been able to pick up true and steady growth on the green movement. The United States' environment will continue to dwindle until the mass mobilization of environmentalism is completely backed by governmental authority. A support system...show more content... The environment is a necessity. Not always do we perceive helping our citizens to be taxing and taking money; although when this money goes towards the living conditions of our people, it is definitely a benefit to all. Although money is currently flying out of American homes to pay for cheap and damaging energy sources, the actual use of this energy depicts a harsh reality: "a large portion of that energy is wasted" ("Energy Savers" 1). The current state of our energy uses is not only hurting the environment, but also our American pockets. Non–green energy sources are also non–efficient, and this leads to a drop in our economy. If only the United States were able to help our citizens turn to renewable sources, we would be able to also save money in the long run. Solar power for example is costly, although clean for the environment and beneficial as sunlight recharges homes at no additional cost. Additionally, our world is becoming "hot, flat, and crowded" (Friedman 2). Our environment is our home, and we are not properly taking care of our home. Because of our poor aid to the environment, we ourselves are suffering in a world that is only becoming polluted, unhealthy, and a wasteland. An unhealthy environment is slowly contaminating our population with smog from factories, carbon filled air from automobiles, and much more. Although the United States does not want to drastically hurt our American economy, the environment needs money and support so that our citizens can gain benefit from the overall outcome of green Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Green Energy In the environment there are many concerns on how to make this a better place to live. One of the biggest issues is our energy and power sources. Green energy is a term used for sources of power and energy that are environmentally friendly. Basically this includes anything that is renewable energy. Renewable energy is considered energy that is constantly being replaced such as wood, vegetable matter, and trash. Green energy 's main focus is to use sources that can cut down on pollution. Some of these sources of power and energy are Biomass energy, geothermal energy, hydropower, nuclear energy, solar energy, wind energy and tidal energy. People hope that these will help use more natural sources to produce energy. In several countries you ...show more content... Next time you get on your computer you can set up your computer to where the sleep mode is on and also the hibernate comes on after thirty minutes. Another thing is taking control of the temperature. During the winter you can set your thermostat at 68 degrees or less during the day and 55 degrees at night before you go to sleep. During the summer you can set it at 78 degrees or more. Also you can set your thermostat on your water heater between 120 and 130 degrees. The only drawback with this one is you can take really long hot showers. So with all these information you can decide if you are for or against green energy. I believe we should start doing something about our environment before we are too late. I personally am for green energy. You don 't necessarily have to go out get green energy as your electricity source but doing little can always help our universe. The good green energy is that there are several sources of energy that we can use and if using these types of energy help clean up our air pollution and atmosphere I 'm all for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. The Greenhouse Effect On The Environment The greenhouse effect occurs when the major gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen oxide and water vapour which then will trap heat in the atmosphere therefore those gasses act as a thick layer outside the planet surrounding the whole planet to control the climate (REF). If we did not have this layer that surrounds the planet and keeps it warm, the temperature would drop and it would not be inhabitable for humans. (REF) Containing this heat causes heat waves, droughts, and climate changes which could change our way of living on this planet. There are different types of gasses in the atmosphere, some are natural and some are manmade gasses, all of which are contribute to the greenhouse effect. Natural emissions such as: Carbon...show more content... There are a lot of manmade gasses which have been released into the atmosphere which have added to the green house layers these gasses such as sulphur hexafluoride, hydrofluorocarbons this results in global warming which means heat that would normally be escaping through the greenhouse layers remains trapped which then start to cause the temperature to rise. Increasing the greenhouse effect can lead to global warming and climate change which will change the way we live. Deforestation: There is a lot of manmade gasses and human activities that are causing global warming and climate change such as deforestation, this has many negative effects on the planet and there are a huge amount of reasons why. According to WWO (2016) "Humans have used forests for fuel for thousands of years, and 2.6 billion people today still use biomass–mainly wood and charcoal–for cooking". The main reasons for deforestation would be for profit such as money or providing for one's family also a lot of farmers are use acres of forests for agriculture as the human population increases dramatically by the second the need for more food is needed so the only way to compensate for this is to plant crops Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Green Architecture Essay Green Architecture is a method to reduce the impact on our environment by using natural resources like energy, water, and the materials that are used in the structure recycled materials or the fixtures used in the home with energy saving features, as well as making a healthier environment. With high–efficiency windows and high value insulation in the walls and floors you're your energy would take less too cool or heat up that area. Written by BOB BOB BOB May 2010 "The history of a green building goes back further than the 70's in the middle of the industrial revolution that Henri Becquerel first witnessed the transformation of solar energy into electrical energy. Around this time, the late 1800's to early 1900's, a number of solar...show more content... The use of fans, vents and blowers are used to distribute the heat in the areas that are needed when a roof and walls are built they are made to be well insulated with the windows letting in heat the insulation in the ceiling and walls absorb it and slowly letting off the heat. If an area is a little bigger than sky lights or more windows are used to bring in more heat. With the landscape of the outside in mind as well if you have plants that require more attention then that cost more energy to take care of them. Think of plants that use less water conserving energy will take less to heat or cool your home if you were to have an asphalt drive then it will put off more heat making your use of air conditioning higher to keep the home cool use a natural source of rock to lessen the energy in the home. If you were to do your laundry or the main energy usage on a sunny or windy day your going to have more energy to complete your entire task then you wouldn't be using your back energy to complete them that is going require the most of your energy sources. Making a home with multi function energy sources gives a wide variety of endless energy with all of them combined it can easily give energy to a home. There is going to be sunny days for your solar energy windy and rainy days for your energy as well so having all sources will make an easier life for your home and less hectic. • 5. Green Marketing Essay example In today's day and age, everyone is concerned about the environment. Our society is increasingly encouraged to "go green," to do our part in making the world a cleaner, more eco–friendly place. Green marketing is one major strategy being used to promote such efforts, but is it effective? There is some debate about this concept, including the history of green marketing, the problems with green marketing so far, the effectiveness of marketing schemes like Sunchips and Toyota, and the strategies that could be used to increase the ability of green marketing. While protecting our planet is a noble concept, its execution seems to be a little vague. Of all the aspects concerning green marketing, one thing is clear: our planet still has a long ...show more content... Sunchips provides not only a "healthier" chip but also uses renewable energy and a biodegradable bag and encourages consumers to join their eco movement. Other companies, such as Pepsi and Volkswagen, are joining in too. The "Refresh Everything" project launched by the major soda chain is attempting to make its product more environmentally friendly, and Volkswagen is taking even bigger strides with its movement, "The Fun Theory," which encourages customers to be green while making the process fun (Park 1). Other major corporations jumping on the green bandwagon include Hewlett Packard, which boasts its recycling efforts and energy efficiency, and Ben and Jerry's with its effort to "Lick Global Warming" and employ other eco–conscious practices (Rottkamp 1). While these strategies have shed light on being friendly to our planet, the fact remains that the large portion of our population simply is not embracing it. One major problem as far as companies using green marketing and why it isn't working is that the relatively vague definition of green marketing leaves a lot of room for loopholes. Green marketing, by simply being defined as "the marketing of products that are assumed to be environmentally safe," allows companies to take advantage of this idea even if their products are not the best example of green ones (McClendon 1). Most companies also don't practice what they preach in such Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. The Benefits of the Green Movement Essay The Green movement began in the Western World during the 1970's around the time of the Vietnam War. The green movement is a social movement regarding concerns for environmental conservation and improvements to the current health of the environment. The Green movement also promotes the conservation, restoration, and the overall improvement of our environment. Many people disagree with the green movement and its values because they don't see the immediate benefits from them. However, supporting the green movement by recycling, researching alternative energy sources, and mandating eco–friendly laws will lead to a better, greener, country. One fairly simple way that people can immediately contribute to the green movement is by recycling....show more content... Another easy way to support the green movement is through the research of alternative energy sources. By switching to renewable energy sources we could drastically reduce or even eliminate the harmful emissions caused by the burning of fossil fuels. "If 50 – 100 billion dollars were spent worldwide on the development of alternative energy sources we could reduce the world's consumption of fossil fuels by 25% and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50%." (Levi, Michael) There are many different ways to harness alternative sources. Some examples of renewable energy sources include Biomass Energy, Wind Energy, Solar Energy, Geothermal Energy, and Hydroelectric Energy. "Combined with the use of recycling, the use of clean alternative energies such as the home use of solar power systems will help ensure man's survival into the 21st century and beyond." (Alternative Energy – Wind, Solar, Hydro and Other Alt Energy Sources for Home Power) So far the most effective form of alternative energy currently available is solar. "A 1.5 kilowatt PV system will keep more than 110,000 pounds of carbon dioxide, the chief greenhouse gas, out of the atmosphere over the next 25 years. The same solar system will also prevent the need to burn 60,000 pounds of coal. With Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Green Chemistry Essay Green Chemistry Many companies all over the world produce chemicals for their products that are harmful to the environment, human health, and to all living species. Green Chemistry is the use of chemistry for the prevention of chemical pollution to the environment by using chemicals that are benign, or not harmful. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that the mission of Green Chemistry is, "To promote innovative chemical technologies that reduce or eliminate the use or generation of hazardous substances in the design, manufacture, and use of chemical products." Green Chemistry contains any aspects and...show more content... The EPA and the Syracuse Research Corporation developed the Chemistry Expert System (GCES) which is used to develop and analyze the various principles of Green Chemistry. They find sources of waste and evaluate the amounts and risks produced. After, they explore opportunities to solve these problems. To help them achieve this, the Alternative Solvents Database (SolvDB) was constructed to help chemists and researchers quickly find alternatives to the harmful chemicals being used at the time. The Syracuse Research Center now has the largest database for this type of information. They are also currently developing a PBT profiler. PBT is the prediction of the persistence, bioaccumulation, and toxicity of chemical substances. This profiler will screen for the PBT's in chemicals so that the harmful chemicals will become known, and maybe even changed. It has also been a major concern by many organizations to educate people about Green Chemistry. The objective of these groups is to spread the awareness of Green Chemistry principles, alternatives, practices and their benefits in the educational system. This would mean at all levels from graduate, undergraduate and even kindergarten to 12 programs. This is so people will stop using products that are hazardous to themselves and the ecosystem and become more aware of the dangers and unfavorable effects it has had on the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Labels such as "organic", "biodegradable", "earth–friendly", vegan and "Fair Trade" are everywhere in today's market. These labels are marketing tools used to influence consumers. Greenwashing is defined as "The dissemination of misleading information by an organization to conceal its abuse of the environment in order to present a positive public image " and "superficial or insincere display of concern for the environment that is shown by an organization " by thefreedictionary.com. For example, "free range" simply means that the hens have access to the outdoors. The USDA does not require any specific length of outdoor time. Similarly "cage free" , according to Consumer Reports, means that the hens do not live in cages, but do live their entire lives inside barns, usually in cramped conditions. "Pasture raised " chickens are those that may live in cages, though the cages are moved around the pasture. Consumer reports also points out that consumers often willing to pay extra for organic eggs on the belief that they are hormone free when actually all eggs are hormone free. Similarly, consumers will pay extra for organic chicken products, believing them to be synthetic hormone free, when the FDA prohibits synthetic hormones in all chicken. Green cleaning products suggest that they use natural ingredients and are free of harmful chemicals. However, this is not necessarily the case. For example "Women's Voices for the Earth" pointed out, eight out of 15 of the "Simple Green" brand products contain chemicals of concern. One such chemical group are glycol ethers, which are released into the environment during manufacturing and use. They have been known to cause significant decrease in fertility and significantly lower birthrates in dogs and mice. Note that animal testing was involved, a fact that many purchasers of green products would not have considered or been comfortable with. In contrast, S.E. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Healthy and Green Environment Healthy and Green Environment – control on carbon footprints! Introduction The literal meaning of the terminology Carbon print is the amount of Carbon emitted by an individual in one year of time span. Carbon Dioxide produced from many sources and is the prime gas responsible for global warming and climate changes in our environment. Define Healthy and green environment? In terms of a layman, the answer would be, basically it's the population that creates pollution nuisance in environment with the emission of various gases, wherein the major portion lies with the Carbon Dioxide Co2 which is involved vigorously in creating Global warming. Who is accountable for Global Warming? Well the responsibility lays in us the "humans" OR calls ourselves the "devastators". With the each scientific discovery and technology we get close to the "development" and closer to the "devastation and disaster". The amount of pace we are travelling it puts in doubt if there will be a healthy environment left for coming generation or just the life full with intoxication? We human beings knowing the consequences avoid the same, because we don't want to forego our comfort zone. Is carbon prints becoming high alert? Because of our life style we deliberately or in–deliberately abuse natural resources produced by mother Earth in various forms– On daily basis we have been polluting land, air and water; since ages. Most of us don't bother ourselves about the waste we create, but thanks to Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 12. Going Green Essay Going Green Lately the phrase "going green" has become a part of everyday discussion and debate. People are being told to turn off the lights, buy energy–saving appliances, and drive less. What people are not being told is why, specifically. Global warming is the increase of the Earth's average temperature. Greenhouse gases are the cause of this problem; carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide and methane (1). Normally the earth's atmosphere lets these gases in but does not release all of it. The excess gases keep the plant warm enough to sustain life. However over time, the atmosphere has sustained damage from chemicals, like the ones released in fossil fuels, and now the planet is heating up too much too fast. Even just a few degrees ...show more content... Most hybrids run use internal combustion engines and electrical motors (2). Internal combustion engines require fuel to create a combustion reaction which powers the engine. An electric motor uses electrical energy to produce mechanical energy which can then run the motor. An on–board rechargeable energy storage system (RESS) stores enough energy, which is also rechargeable, to run the electric motor (2). To lower fuel consumption, the RESS regenerates power, or energy, through regenerative breaking or sometimes through the combustion engine. Regenerative breaking uses some of the energy produced by the car when accelerating and stores it. This is why hybrid cars cannot compete in the market for speed. In more modern models, a mechanism allows for energy to be taken from the combustion engine to charge the cars battery or electrical motor (2). In the sense of "going green", hybrids reduce idle emissions by shutting off the ICE during idle times, like stop lights and traffic, and then restarting it when the car needs to move. A smaller and more efficient engine also cuts back on power compared to large engines where all the parts may not be used, but need to be powered, thus reducing emissions (2). Other benefits from HEVs are noise–level reduction and air pollution. The goal of hybrid manufactures is to run vehicles without the use of fuel. However, this is a new market and the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Energy–efficient appliances reduce the use of natural resources while lowering energy and utility bills. Products Eco Friendly, Recyclable and Biodegradable Products Plastics have become an indispensable ingredient to modern life. But the environmentally degradable plastics are finding innumerable opportunities and application. Physical and chemical methods of pollution control were always in the forefront because they were easy to understand, easy to control and were reproducible. Biodegradation is the real mechanism of nature of balancing the material. A better option is to modify the materials, processes and products in such a way that one can rely upon the biodegradation in nature, recalcitrance and bioaccumulation problems are overcome. We are slowly changing our philosophy and are not merely targeting for clean–up or removal of pollutant but are aiming for prevention of pollution or facilitating biodegradation. Bio plastics are biodegradable plastics, whose components are derived from renewable raw materials. These plastics can be made from abundant agricultural/animal resources like cellulose, starch, casein collagen, soy protein polyesters and triglycerides. Large scale use of these would help in preserving non–renewable resources like petroleum, natural gas and coal and contribute little to the

  • 17. Going Green Essay GOING GREEN BY RECYCLING Have you ever wanted to help the environment but you just didn't know how? If you have, there are several easy ways that you can go green and still help the environment. What does it mean to "go green?" It means to make choices that reduce, minimize, or even attempt to reverse the negative impact of our actions on earth and its resources. Also, to find ways to preclude human actions that contribute to the extinction of rare plants, and animals. Going Green also means to recycle and find innovative ways to release the most common e–waste such as computers, televisions, telephones, VCRs, stereos, copiers, and fax machines. In addition, going green means addressing the causes of global warming and what can be done...show more content... People throw these bags away anyways so why not just take a reusable bag that can be used multiple times instead of only once. In addition, the plastic bags take a long time to decompose so you are harming the environment. Instead of creating so much garbage, you can bring your reusable bag to the store so that you can certify that you are one less person that is filling up our landfills. The more people that reuse their items, the more safer the environment becomes, not only for yourself but for everyone. After discussing reusing, we can discuss about reducing. Reducing is another way to go green and help the environment. By reducing the way you utilize your materials you create less garbage on the planet. One of the ways you can help is by avoiding using materials such as paper plates, cups, forks and spoons because they create a lot of waste. Instead of using these materials, you can use dishes that can be washed and reused. It does not take very long to wash a couple of dishes. Eventually we are going to run out of a place to store our garbage. Our landfills are already filling up rapidly so you can avoid contributing to the overfilling. Another way of reducing is by avoiding wasting materials like paper. You should use all materials wisely. These simple things can contribute a lot even though you may think that these things are unnecessary. Our top priority right now should be to do everything Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. The Importance Of The Green Environment Society as a whole is struggling to balance old dominant western environment ideals with new green environment ideals. As science shows the effects of climate change, and the detriments of a Western consumerist culture on the environment, many people are shifting towards a more green, eco–friendly philosophy. This shift of being conscious of theenvironment, has prompted some people and companies to make honest changes to preserve and help the environment. This starting shift in society of being eco–friendly has prompted many businesses to jump on this trend, as it looks better to consumers and often saves or makes the companies money. Despite, this new societal shift toward a green paradigm, many parts of society want to hold onto to dominant western ideals of controlling and using the environment's resources to the advantage of humans. Society is currently wrestling, with whether to follow the ideas of the dominant western paradigm, or the newer green paradigm. Many parts of society are shifting towards a green paradigm, but is this for genuine environmental reasons, or to make money and products, that continue to feed into the consumerism ideals of the old dominant western paradigm? The dominant western environmental paradigm can be described as, "the anthropocentric belief that humans are separate from and superior to the natural environment, which has status only as 'resource' or commodity available for exploitation through technology. It has no intrinsic worth." Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 20. Global Warming is due to the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is a naturally occurring process that aids in heating the Earth's surface and atmosphere. It results from the fact that certain atmospheric gases, such as carbon dioxide, water vapor, and methane, are able to change the energy balance of the planet by being able to absorb longwave radiation from the Earth's surface. Without the greenhouse effect, life on this planet would probably not exist as the average temperature of the Earth would be a chilly –18 degrees Celsius, rather than the present 15 degrees Celsius. As energy from the sun passes through the atmosphere a number of things take place. A portion of the energy (26 %...show more content... The now warmer atmospheric greenhouse gas molecules begin radiating longwave energy in all directions. Over 90 % of this emission of longwave energy is directed back to the Earth's surface where it once again is absorbed by the surface. The heating of the ground by the longwave radiation causes the ground surface to once again radiate repeating the cycle described above, again and again, until no more longwave is available for absorption. The amount of heat energy added to the atmosphere by the greenhouse effect is controlled by the concentration of greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere. All of the major greenhouse gases have increased in concentration since the beginning of the industrial revolution (about 1700 A.D.). As a result of these higher concentrations, scientists predict that the greenhouse effect will be enhanced and the Earth's climate will become warmer. Predicting the amount of warming is accomplished by computer modeling. Computer models suggest that a doubling of the concentration of the main greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide, may raise the average global temperature between 1 and 3 degrees Celsius. However, the numeric equations of computer models do not accurately simulate the effects of a number of possible negative feedbacks. For example, many of the models cannot properly simulated the negative effects that increased cloud cover would have on Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Apparently, as soon as the "Expo–2017" Exhibition had been held, the interest dropped and Government's incentive to force industries is under question, especially with lower prices for their products that bring main profit to state budget. Some global leader countries in renewable energy production have already suspended implementation of green technologies. At the same time, Kazakhstan who is reach for oil, gas and uranium plans to spend big funds for alternative energy. Minister of environment protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Kapparov has mentioned several times that implementation of Green economy in Kazakhstan will require 3–4 billion US dollars per year. Considering non–transparent character of Kazakhstan's state purchasing system, it might become a new source for corruption mechanisms in the economy which will reduce effectiveness of the Green economy initiative. In case Government obliges large companies to implement and proactively use renewable energy and increase energy efficiency it might result in reduction of their productivity and increase of cost for their final products which will result in losing their competitiveness.
