5. PAWR program
• $100 million grant program to fund 4 communities for testbed
($20 million). 1 or 2 in 2017, 1 or 2 in 2018 and 1 in 2019.
• Funding
– NSF $50 million
– Industry $50 million (28 firms including AT&T, Verizon, Intel, Dell)
• Time line
– 1 June 2017 – Pre Proposal
– 31 July 2017 – Full Proposal
– Oct-Dec 2017– Negotiations with finalists
– Jan 2018 begin testbed deployment

7. What we are asking from the city
• An agreement that provides access for 3 or 4
nodes in the city. Rights of way, pole contact
etc (the project should fund make ready,
permitting and construction costs.

Economic Development etc.
