The Job
The Instructor Award is an
entry-level training course
designed to teach candidates
how to deliver introductory target
archery sessions that are safe
and fun for beginners. Archery
GB tasked Coachwise with
creating a hard-copy resource
that combined their technical
know-how and our design
expertise, with the ultimate goal
of accrediting the next generation
of archery instructors inspired by
The London 2012 Olympic and
Paralympic Games.
The Solution

With such a wealth of information
needing to be appropriately
packaged, the key to this project
was breaking the near 80-page
resource down into bite-sized
chunks. By selecting a bold and
bright colour scheme, allied to
the use of excellent instructional
photography, Coachwise was
able to bring this vibrant and
interesting sport to life. Plenty of
information is packed into this
resource, but it’s pleasing on the
eye and never a chore to read.

The Results
Archery GB have some
innovative and exciting plans to
increase participation numbers
following the London Games,
and they now have an Instructor
Award Handbook that will play a
key role in the development of
an evolving sport. This manual
contains an assortment of fact
files that summarise the
essentials of what you need to
understand as an instructor.
They can be used as a
reference during the course, as
well as to help you in your
ongoing development as an
instructor. The material printed
on, coupled with the oversized
wiro binding, ensures this
resource really does pack
a punch.
