- Sensitivity is in Avène’s DNA. In recent years, however, its definition has evolved, due to changes in our lifestyles and consumer aspirations. Sensitivity has become the new standard, both in France and abroad. It is obviously a subjective notion: sensitive skin hides several realities, ranging from genuine skin conditions to “narcissistic sensitivity”. Nonetheless, products designed for sensitive skin now guarantee safety and peace of mind for women.
- Beyond simply sensitive skin, some women have hypersensitive, reactive skin, which they sometimes also describe as intolerant or allergic. I’m sure some of you will have experienced a type of burning sensation when you get out of the shower. Or cheeks that sting in the winter when you enter a heated building. The mothers in the room may also have experienced sudden, very uncomfortable skin sensations while pregnant. These skin reactions are unpredictable, which makes things even more complicated for such women. Stress, quality of sleep, climate and diet can all have an influence. And your skin won’t necessarily react with the same intensity or regularity, which is what makes hypersensitive skin so difficult to control.
