2. Many natural phenomena are
frequently happening today than ever
before because of the results of
environmental issues. It includes
global warming, climate change,
ozone depletion, biodiversity loss,
ocean acidification and many more.
INTRODUCTION:
3. Most environmental problems
are rooted from human
activities which rapidly turns
earth into a dying planet. It
truly affects the appearance of
earth as comparably seen since
the stone age. With fast
advancement of the world, the
environment well-being is being
compromise.
4. Today, we experience many
changes in the environment and it
is really evident. Due to the
enormous rate of human
activities, earth is being
destructed. The warning for
humanity to save the planet is
alarming if we continue to neglect
the signs of climate change.The
future is so uncertain now
because environment is
completely ruined by humans.
5. Environmental Issues
• Environmental issues are issue which has its
roots in the environment and involves a
problem surrounding which there are differing
beliefs and values. ( Hungerford et al 1990)
• It has harmful effects to Earth and its natural
systems due to the actions of humans.
6. Greta Thunberg: Swedish Climate Activist
At a young age of 15, she started
school strikes for climate at school
to pressure the government to meet
carbon emissions target.
“ How dare you? You have stolen
my dreams and my childhood with
your empty words”
On 2019, she delivered a speech at
UN Climate Conference challenging
world leaders to take enough
action for worsening crisis of
climate.

8. The Arctic Climate
Change
• Shrinking sea ice is a big
problem for Arctic animals
and species who live there.
• Summer sea ice is
disappearing.
Future Impact:
The Arctic is likely to be
practically ice-free in
September at least once
before 2050 in all scenarios
assessed.
9. The Antarctic Ozone Hole
(2020)
• The ozone hole over the South
Pole is now bigger than
Antarctica.
• Ozone layer protects us from
ultraviolet rays.
• The changes in the Antarctic
ozone hole causes extreme
warming of earth that results to
extreme weather events, very
severe typhoons, and highest
annual temperature in different
countries.
10. Summer 1936 vs.Summer 2021
VS
.
Global Warming
The long-term heating of Earth's climate system
observed since the pre-industrial period (between 1850
and 1900) due to human activities, primarily fossil fuel
burning, which increases heat-trapping greenhouse gas
levels in Earth's atmosphere.
11. Threats of Global Warming
• A fresh news coming from the IPCC (
Intergovernmental Planet on Climate Change) about
the state of climate crisis today and in the future.
IPCC giving a threat to the humans about their so
called “code red for humanity”.
• Code red for humanity- it is a landmark study that
warns of increasingly extreme heatwaves, droughts
and flooding, and a key temperature limit being
broken in just over a decade.
12. Paris Agreement Goals
• On the Paris Agreement joined by many powerful nations
like China and United States, (two top countries that
contribute the most on carbon emissions), a goal of
limiting the temperature not above 1.5 degree Celsius is
set.
• A failure to slash global emissions is setting the world on
a "catastrophic" path to 2.7 degrees Celsius heating, UN
chief Antonio Guterres warned Friday just weeks before
crunch climate talks.
13. Higher Temperature causes “Heatwave”
Heatwave is a period of hot weather. The recorded
temperatures must be above the average
temperature for a given area to be considered as
heatwave.
14. Heatwave can bring many devastating effects in
many aspects of our life. In our health, it can
cause heat stroke, dehydration, chronic
conditions such as cardiovascular diseases and
diabetes.
In environment, it can cause drought, wildfires,
water shortages, and decrease in crop
production.

15. Stronger Typhoons
Typhoon Chantu ( Kiko)
2021
In today’s year strong typhoons are deadly and
really common to be formed which causes floods,
strong winds and casualties. It is also because of
the fast warming of the earth.

16. Wildfires
• Wildfires are connected to
the heating of earth and a
lightning strike. The most
recent wildfire strikes in
California, Algeria, Greece
and Italy.
• Wildfires are drivers of
climate change.

17. Deforestation
Deforestation in Amazon
• Deforestation is the
purposeful clearing of
forested land. (National
Geographic Society).
• Countries with highest
rate of deforestation in
the world:Honduras,
Nigeria, Philippines
• 17% of Amazon rainforest
has been destroyed over
the past 50 years and
losses recently have been
on the rise.
18. Biodiversity Loss
Drought in Kenya Massive Slaughter of
Dolphins in Faroe Islands
Polar Bears Extinction
• Biodiversity loss is a threat to humans as well as humans
are threat to biodiversity.
• Humans use biodiversity resources to save only
ourselves.
19. “What are the lessons that
you have learned that you
can share to everyone?”
20. The lessons I learn about environmental issues
is that living in a destructed planet is a threat to
humanity. When the time has come that the
environment can’t provide, humans will surely not
survive. We live in a modern world where everything
around us are being converted to money. Many
capitalists make profit from environmental resources.
They don’t care for environment well-being so the
consequences they create are less felt by them. I’m
sure people around the world feel the changes of
climate, the frequent environmental problems
created by humans.
21. Also, the news around the world shows a serious
effects of climate change. It is so alarming and
worrying that wildfires, floods, and volcanic eruption
became prevalent. These signs are clear reflection
of the environments degradation that at many
points humans are to blame. Today, we can expect
climate change maybe irreversible if world leaders
don’t act fast. To not act now means a long-lasting
effect will be experience frequently.
