My objective is to assist in the development and advancement of a high quality, team-oriented recreation
department in a local municipality in order to establish the following personal career goals: home-grown
community values, create hands-on local events, establish personal growth, gain valuable expertise,

 Provided assistance and services for over 3 years in the recreation industry.

Duties that I am responsible for as the Beach Ambassador/Park Maintenance:
 Performs a variety of landscape maintenance activities, which includes: mowing, trimming,
edging, raking, fertilizing, aerating, and watering lawns, grounds, and other areas; planting,
weeding, mulching, and spraying plant bed areas; planting, pruning, trimming, and removing
trees; and/or, performing other related activities.
 Picks up and removes trash from beaches,parks, greenbelts, creeks,drainage areas,ponds, right-
of-ways, and/or other open spaces.

2.  Inspects assigned areas,corrects and/or reports safety hazards.
 Operates a variety of hand and power tools and equipment including hand and power mowers,
small tractors, generators,line trimmers, spreaders,edger’s,blowers, hedge trimmers, chain saws,
rakes,shovels, hoes, brooms and other tools. Drives a variety of trucks and other vehicles.
 Observes safe work methods and uses safety equipment. Secures work sites from hazards as
needed.
 Performs a wide variety of activities in support of the preparation and maintenance of athletic
fields, which includes: painting lines on a variety of athletic fields; chalking and cleaning base
pins; installing bases; performing minor infield irrigation repairs; installing tents and temporary
fencing for special events; repairing fences,base pins, bleachers, soccer goals, foul poles, and
related items; shoveling and raking sand; and/or, performing other related activities.
 Performs a wide variety of activities in support of grounds maintenance, which includes:
removing graffiti; installing landscape areas; installing irrigation lines; cleaning and sanitizing
restrooms; power washing pavilions, walls, sidewalks, and restrooms; and/or, performing other

As an intern, the duties and tasks were to work alongside and learn from professionals in the park and
recreation industry. Duties included:
 Attend meetings.
 Plan and operate a town Easter Festival.
 Help operate a fishing event for the youth of Little Elm.
 Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating different aspects of the recreation industry for
the town.
 Assist in operations of town events for the public.
 Inform Special Events Coordinator of any problems or issues that lead up to the event date.
 Manage and organize potential vendors and sponsors.
 Help run daily operations for recreation center and senior center.
 Help with programming senior programs for the citizens that attend the senior center.
