Assistant Director of Education (January 2013-May 2014)
Responsible for overseeing 2 state grants and programs that served the Coastal Bend and 7
surrounding counties and included 20,000+ children. Worked with community members to fulfill
our mission to promote self-efficacy by teaching prevention skills to youth who are at risk for
substance abuse and other risky behaviors. Responsible for coordinating and overseeing all levels
of planning of Break the Norm, an annual community event held during spring break that focused
on youth prevention and awareness. Responsible for coordinating Red Ribbon week events and
activities for all schools and communities serviced. Responsible for collaborating with Corpus
Christi Icerays Association to schedule youth night and promote programs that focused on youth
prevention.

Certified Prevention Specialist (March 2010-December 2012)
Responsible for facilitating research based programming to at risk community youth and families .
Taught Too Good for Drugs program in elementary, middle school and high schools which teaches
youth self esteem, goal setting and standing up to peer pressure. 10 week program that was
taught once a week with discussion and activities involved.
Taught youth in Strengthening Families program. Program was geared towards families,
encouraged goal setting as a family and encouraged parents to communicate with their children
and to stay actively involved in their lives. Breakout sessions were taught for the first hour and
then families were brought together the second hour to discuss the topic of the evening and
practice skills learned with role playing activities.

Responsible for and directs all creative and sophisticated audio/visual programs for progressive
church. Coordinates all media aspects for all services and combines church inputs into a coherent
and original service.

Responsible for locating bands, laying out a complete plan for the event from beginning to end to
include all workers and finances required, creating promotion media and advertisement, delegating
distribution of promotional posters and over-seeing fund-raising for the event. Main responsibility is
to oversee the layout plan to include workers, security, food service, ticket sales, sound team and
the setup and tear down team and supervising 15–35 church members to ensure smooth transition
of all individuals responsible in each area.

Youth Coordinator (1998-Present)Responsible for overseeing the curriculum appropriate for each
age level, overseeing teachers and their duties and coordinating summer camps for the children as
well as fund-raisers. Other duties include providing counseling for teens and teen-parent meetings
when necessary and empathizing with the situation as well as showing compassion towards the
teen and offering a suitable answer to their problem.

Responsible for supervising radio station duties at KTAI 91.1. Duties included play to play
announcing as well as color commentary for all sport activities at Texas A&M University Kingsville
