Independent, focused, dedicated Monitoring and Evaluation specialist with PMD-Pro qualifications and
experience in Data management, Monitoring, Evaluation and Research in public health issues in developing

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
May 2012 to Date; Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB), Nairobi, Kenya
Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist
Supporting all the Monitoring and Evaluation activities for CMMB Kenya programs on VMMC;
Global Fund; CHAMPS (MNCH, WASH) and CHAP (System Strengthening) in Data management
and Data use in planning and re programing.
Roles
Developed M&E system and plans and Log-Frames for CMMB programs.
Mentorship and training of Project Implementation staffs, health care workers, and other stakeholders
in data management and reporting.
Ensured that data and reports are submitted to donors and other stakeholders in timely manner, using
the reporting system.
Active role in development of new proposals for funding request.
Designed and oversee baseline assessments for new programs; Midterm reviews and project impact
evaluation.
Reviewed the Data collection tools to suit the program indicators; the tools were adopted by the donor.
Organized stakeholder Data Sharing meetings for Data use in planning and implementation
Key Achievements: Strengthenedthe M&E system for the CMMB programsand developed the M&E plan
for each program; My efforts for data quality and management was recognized by KRCS through Global
Fund program and adoption of program tools which I reviewed.
2. October 2010 to May 2012: ICAP- Kenya, Kisumu, Kenya
Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Supported TB/HIV; PMTCT and HTC programs implemented in 82 Health facilities with the support
of 8 Data officers.
Roles
Mentored and trained Health facility staffs in HMIS; Data management and Data use for planning.
Collection, collation and analysis of data; generation of reports and submission to donor and
other stakeholders.
Organizing Data demand for information Use meetings.
Developed and maintained the program indicators matrix for monitoring program performance.
Ensured availability of program M&E tools, and also participated in the national M&E tools review
Key Achievements: My innovation of Data matrix helped to simplify the understanding of indicator
performance and also improved the quality of Data updated in the KePMS: Further, through my leadership,
the turnaround time of doing quarterly reports were reduced.
August 2008 to October 2010; Nyanza Reproductive Health Society (NRHS), Kisumu, Kenya
Data Manager
Reporting to the Principal Investigator and working with 8 research assistants in 10 research sites to
manage research data for over 3,000 research participants in a sexual health and behavior study among
men aged 18-35 years:
Roles
Conducted periodic data analysis and writing for presentation at research meetings and seminars.
Developed the M&E plan and SOPs for quality data collection, management and reporting.
Trained the research assistants on the data collection software, ACASI, data management and ethics in
research:
Conducted regular sites visits to collect the specific sites data for reconciliation and verification
Ensured efficient supply of data collection tools; database maintenance and modification on need basis.
Key Achievements: Managed 8 sites through the support of 8 research Assistants and a database of over
3000 research participants; through my skills in data management, the follow up rate was at over 85% for the
follow up visits.
3. CONSULTANCIES
Nov. 2015: Amref Health; Mid-Term Review of Sexual Reproductive Health Rights in hard to
reach areas in 5 Counties: Turkana, Marsabit, Wajir, Isiolo and Mandera Counties.
Working as a consultant in charge of 2 counties, Wajir and Turkana, I supported the lead
consultant in the development and review of study tools; Survey design and sample
selection; organization of training of the research assistants; training and supervision of the
researchassistants;pretestingthequestionnaire; facilitating FGDandKII; transcriptionand
generation of draft reports specific to Turkana and Wajir Counties; taking part in
quantitative data analysis.
Sep. 2014: Amref Health; Mid-Term Review of Mama na Mtoto Project in Makueni County
Working as a Supervisor in charge of 2 Sub-counties, , I supported the lead consultant in
the development and review of study tools; organization of training of the research
assistants; training and supervision of the research assistants; pretesting the questionnaire;
facilitating FGD and KII; transcription and generation of draft reports.
Aug. 2014: CMMB-Kenya Baseline assessment on CHAMPS program
Supervising the consulting team; I reviewed the research methodology, survey tools and
instruments; financial management of the survey process; engagement and training of the
research assistants together with the lead consultant; facilitating the FGD and the KII
interviews; conducting facility assessments and review of the draft report from the lead
consultant. I also developed summary presentation for the results of the baseline
assessment and presented to the stakeholders.
Mar. 2008: APHIA II Nyanza and Western Assessment of effects of Post-election violence in
Nyanza and western Province:
Worked as a field supervisor; I was involved in the development of data collection tools
and review of the same tools after pretesting. I also led the training and supervision of
researchassistants, facilitatedFGDdata collectionandKIIinterviews;Review ofsecondary
data; data analysis and generation of the survey report. Further, I participated in developing
research finding presentations and disseminating the same to the different stakeholders.
4. Aug.2007: APHIA II Nyanza Formative assessment study on Sexual reproductive health;
Worked as a field supervisor; I was involved in the development of data collection tools
and review of the same tools after pretesting. I also led the training and supervision of
research assistants, facilitated FGD data collection and KII interviews; transcription of the
