PROGRAM MISSION
The Arc of New Jersey’s Family Advocacy
Program supports family members in
becoming personally involved with public
policy. Its mission is to help families of
individuals with intellectual and
developmental disabilities (I/DD) to
advocate for positive, lasting change in
public policy.
WAYS TO PARTICIPATE
Family Advocacy Program
The Arc of New Jersey’s Family Advocacy
Program is an easy way to get involved
and make a difference without a huge time
commitment. All that’s required is
responding to email Action Alerts.
Family Ambassador Program
The Family Ambassador Program takes
your advocacy to the next level. After
completing a short application and
training, you will assist our Governmental
Affairs team in speaking with policymakers
about I/DD issues affecting individuals as
well as families.
Friends Network
Public policy advocacy is most
effective when family members, self-
advocates and caring citizens actively
participate. The Friends Network
supports you in becoming an effective
advocate so that you can work alongside
individuals with I/DD, and their families, to
create positive, lasting change in public
policy.
