2. Identification of target audience When looking into our target audience we will take into consideration Graeme Burton's social grouping, developed by Fiske and Hartley. Using this theory will allow us to break down the different components e.g choosing the age, gender of our target audience, we may even consider place in society. We will also include Graeme Burton's media grouping. This can include audience’s relationship with media through internet, newspapers or tv. Can be any other interests our audience may have, the style of music they most listen to and any tv shows or other media interests which may affect our video and our choice of audience. This theory will help us to narrow down our choices to help us come to a conclusion, which age group to choose, gender and help develop our R'n'B genre to suit our target audience needs and develop on what our target audience wants.
4. Social status classification When choosing and researching into our target audience we will need to consider social status. Depending on the status of our audience will vary what we offer and what is available to them.
5. Richard Dyer’s Utopian solutions We aim to offer our target audience compensation for the inadequacies in their lives. This is Richard Dyer’s Utopian solutions. Our video will suit our target audience and their needs. For poverty we will provide abundance, we will offer a cheap video available to those of all social status. We will offer lots of chose to our audience. We will clarify any confusion that our audience may have and provide a clear choice and any confusion we will solve while making our video. Our video will solve the issue of exhaustion its self as our video will be fun and full of energy providing fun for our audience. We can create a community through our video solving the isolation problem, as this will bring conversation with others who have the same music interests.

Blumler and Katz:Uses and gratifications theory When planning and creating our music video we will ensure we take into account Blumler and Katz-Uses and Gratifications theory therefore we will: INFORM and EDUCATE our audience, IDENTIFY personally ENTERTAIN Create a SOCIAL INTERACTION A chance to ESCAPE.
10. Esteem-Our need to feel good about ourselvesBy including these basic needs will allow us to have greater success when creating our music video. We will be certain we have given our audience what they want therefore we would have fulfilled their needs in terms of creating a music video best suited for them.
