3. Most people felt that the genre was clear but
those that didn’t said it was because:
The music was too friendly
It was too obvious that the narrator was reading off
of a script
It needed more darkly lighted shots and ‘graphic
content’
4. Most Popular Scenes/ Shots Other shots that
people commented on
were the title
The Body/ The Pentagram scene, the scene with
the knife and some of
Misc. Running Scenes the dialogue scenes.
The reasons they gave

and added to the
action.
5. The main things that people felt could be
improved was:
The acting
The narration – it was too obvious that she
was reading off a script
The music – it was too cheery/ not dark
enough
The editing – transitions needed to be
smoother
And the lighting needed to be darker
6. Non-linear narrative Tells parts of the story/ basic

7. Low key lighting
When it was going to be out
Usually writing on the screen such as rhetorical questions
Critics’ comments
Quite a lot of talking – not generic conversation telling
the story
Short snappy shots
Multiple story lines
A couple of other people commented on things such as
whether or not it was coming soon and that there wasn’t
a voice over or narration. I, however, disagree with both
of these things as our trailer has a title slide saying
‘Coming Soon’ and also has both a voice over and a
narrator.
9. Appropriate Inappropriate
Appropriate – made more of a horror feeling Too cheery at the first bit but like the teddy
bears picnic
Quite appropriate – spooky Haunting but too slow paced
Works well with the title and narrative Bit slow paced compared to the visuals
Quite bland but worked well Not tense enough
I liked it, it was unique It needed to be creepier
Appropriate – really creepy Inappropriate – reminds me of happy children
Appropriate but needs to be clearer Didn’t fit
Excellent, really creepy
Fits well, especially at the end
Appropriate/ Good (9 times)
Very good – simple but quite effective
Okay – seems appropriate to some extent of the tale
Threatening
10. Music is good
Idea great, some great shots, editing
okay, voiceover could be improved
Looked quite funny
Well done
An excellent trailer. Well done!
The last comment from character works
really well to leave an impression
