Data Centers
2. Data Center is the facility that was
designed to host equipment that refers
to telecommunication systems,
computational systems and storage
systems. All the active equipment
installed in a data center is usually
equipped with dual power supplies and
Ethernet connections. Also dual
internet service provider connections
and dual power feeds, UPS and
Generators apply to data centers to
ensure redundancy and business
continuity.

3. • Data Center Design philosophy
• Rack and Computational equipment loading
• Numerous environmental sensors and monitoring services
• Data Center Design Criteria
• Architectural Design -> (space planning , floor, light,
security etc),Redundant access to ,No exterior windows (
increase heat and security risk),Delivery of Large
equipment,Provide authorized access & monitored
• Structure Wiring-> Fiber / Copper/ twinxial Cables
• Electrical-> UPS /Generator / Dual feeds on the Grid/
• Cooling / Mechanical-> HVAC systems / dual
connections
• DCIM System-> environmental Sensors , smart PDU’s ,
fire suppression

7. Cooling / Mechanical
Managing the airflow around the
server cabinets is critical to
prevent hardware from
overheating - solutions to
manage this is by using blanking
panels foam tape, sealing
grommets and high-flow air tiles.
Sealing the openings in the
raised floor and the bottom and
top cover of racks with sealing
grommets prevents cool supply
air from escaping where is not
needed.
