Director, Legislative Relations (2012-2015)
!Hired to direct the state and federal legislative and regulatory activity of non-profit organization responsible
for more than 6,000 annual bone marrow transplants. Seamlessly managed a five-person team of staff,
consultants and interns remotely while operating the Washington, DC office.
!Selected Achievements:
• Delivered more than $152M in federal appropriations funds over three years allowing the organization to
add hundreds of thousands of new potential donors and cord blood units.
• Planned and executed fly-in events and briefings that allowed patients and advocates to meet with
hundreds of Members of Congress to provide important updates and create personal connections.
• More than doubled advocacy membership by revamping web/social media presence and launching
email campaigns. The expanded network gave us a stronger voice on Capitol Hill and our open rates and
action rates were consistently above industry standard.
