Surrey in the Guildford area is my community that I know best. For each sector I have selected, has been
something I am either involved in or know of. In SPSC 2210, I have learned and expanded my knowledge
of the history of recreational and physical education and it is important to take note of current services
that are successfultoday.

be at risk for failure, supports social skills and
problem solving, achieves physical activity by

contribute to a good character for these students while also getting physical activity in a free- play style,
“because of its nature continually reinforces values and ideals of establishing and maintaining a healthy
lifestyle to the user.” (Lunn, 2020,p.5) While students are developing, this program is beneficial towards

they believe will benefit the community around
them are a few of the main objectives of this
program for young girls. Having deep discussions
about what they think is important can help with
their confidence and back up their ideas with
supporting evidence. Some discussions include
the success of females in sport and as coaches
compared to males. Students also get to refine
their physical abilities such as,increasing their

This public sector falls under a recreational program. There are many values that placed that will
contribute towards their success entering high school, “recreation services should be commensurate with
individual and collective interests…”(Lunn, 2020, p.5). While students are developing, this program is
beneficial towards their growth as an individual and build confidence entering a new chapter in their
lives. Being mentored and having the chance to help their peers helps. This is a good connection to SPSc
