At binding, we must also inform the customer of any outstanding items that may affect their policy in the future. The items we must reiterate to our customers are as follows: any PIP/UMBI/UMPD waivers returned within 14 days, binding with liability when customer requires comp/coll to satisfy a lienholder, filing fees- same day bind, SR-22, FR-44; changing credit card info on file for future payments, review all documents and contact us if they have questions, and finally, any other important advisory statements.
Lienholder Statement: “Having just liability may not fully satisfy the terms of your loan (or lease) agreement if the coverage is less than your lender requires. You may add additional coverage to your policy at a later date; however adding that coverage may require an additional down payment.”
By going through these small items with our customers, we remind them of any additional steps necessary to maintain their policy. This ensures a good customer experience by setting the expectation that they may have other responsibilities. By notifying them that they should read through their documents, we are letting them know we’re holding them accountable to all of the terms of their policy contract.
