3. The company you keep
greatly influences your
life. Most likely, this
group of people affects
your outlook,
perspective, and
decision-making.
You have likely made
important decision
based on friends’ or
peers’ opinions.
4. When you are certain
of how you want your
life to turn out, it is
important that you
select people who can
help you succeed in
life. One criteria that
you can use is to
determine if your
peers are friends of
your vision.
5. Friends are people who want you to
succeed and be all you can be.
You can be friendly with many people, but allow only
those who really care about your welfare to speak into
your life.
6. Friends are people who lift you up
and do not pull you down
Find people who can
encourage you and can speak
positive things into your life.
This does not mean that you
only expect people to speak
only good about you, but they
should be honest enough to
even hurt you when you need
correction.
7. You cannot be friends with
people who have a different set
of values
Your vales determine your character. Be
careful not to allow people do not share your
core values to influence you.
8. You cannot be friends with those who
do not support your life vision
It is not advisable to be close with people
who do not really believe in your life vision.
You cannot be with someone who views life
from a different plane unless you want to be
confused or blurred about your vision, or be
totally distracted from pursuing it.
9. You cannot be friends with those
whose convictions are the exact
opposite of yours.
Be with people who share your convictions on important
issues.
You need people around you that can support your stand.
10. Friends of your vision are:
People who help you pursue your cause.
People who strengthen you so you can be the
person you want to be.
People who encourage and motivate you so you
can persist in pursuing your vision.
11. Realization:
Look in – identify struggles in your life that, if not dealt
with, may hinder you from succeeding.
Look up - ask God to bring people into your life who
will help you succeed.
Look round - be a friend to someone whose vision is
something you really believe in.
Look out - do not hang around with people who “kill”
your vision. The last thing you need is a person who
never believes in you.
13. 1 Corinthians 15:33
Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good
character.”

there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
14. Proverbs 18:24 24 One who has unreliable friends
soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks
closer than a brother.
Proverbs 19:20 20 Listen to advice and accept
discipline, and at the end you will be counted among
the wise.
Proverbs 22:24-25 24 Do not make friends with a hot-
tempered person, do not associate with one easily
angered, 25 or you may learn their ways and get
yourself ensnared.
Proverbs 13:20 20 Walk with the wise and become
wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.
You may not even be aware of this, but you have likely made important decisions based on friends’ or peers’ opinions. Considering the risk your friendships could have on your life and on your future, you should carefully choose your friends.
