The majestic Wildernesse Golf Club in Sevenoaks, Kent have worked with Golf HR
on a frequent one-off basis over the years, but have now realised how beneficial it is
to have our support team on hand seven days a week.
“I’ve used them on a number of occasions asking for advice, you never think you will
need it, but since I’ve employed them I’ve probably spent more time talking over
little issues than anything else, where we wanted advice of how to best handle
something going forward.”
“It’s a cheaper option than using a local lawyer, you get straight
advice, know what you’re paying for and its money well spent to
give me peace of mind to be able to pick up the phone and know
that you’re not left to your own devices to hope you’re right.”
“Initially we used them for compromise agreements and used our
own knowledge in house, but where we wanted definite advice to
be able to be squeaky clean we would go to an employment law
firm. Golf HR do a number of golf clubs so they understand the
nature of our business, the specifics that come with a hospitality
type industry. It is far cheaper than going to a local solicitor for
the same advice.”
“My personal requirement was to refresh our contracts to make sure they were up to date with current
law. We had systems in place, but it was all a bit ad-hoc and had moved on a few years, it was the chance
to take a fresh look at our contracts and our staff handbook. I could have taken an old one I had, but I
needed a company that could give me a good staff handbook that I knew was fully up to date with
employment law.”
Wildernesse’s Manager Andrew Lawrence is now working regularly with Carolyne and the team at Golf HR
to tailor his handbook to Wildernesse Golf Club’s specific needs.
“I’m trying to insert a few extra bits here and there; they’ve given me the belt and braces of legal
requirements so I’m just trying to titivate it, to add a few bits and a few niceties. Now I know I am working
from a document that regarding employment law is up to date, whereas the previous one I had was over
four years old. We’ve got an annual cover on a set number of hours and I’ve used them for a number of
things. The good news is no major issues!”
“We take every problem seriously, whether large or small, so your employees and superiors can be
confident that whatever the issue, Golf HR are here to help find a solution.”
“Certainly the board members who are involved and are ultimately responsible…it gives them peace of
mind to know they’re not relying on me to make judgement calls for them, so if any issue comes up it is
