Pinner Hill Golf Club in Middlesex is a beautiful course which has been operating
since the early 20th
Century. The club’s management have only recently started
working with Golf HR, but are already reaping the benefits.
“They’ve been more than helpful, we’ve just gone through the setup process where
they will look at current contracts, current handbooks, advise a rewrite and produce
a new document which we’re just about to roll out” says Alan Findlater, their Club
Manager.
“We had used a HR consultant previously for various bits and pieces, very ad hoc. We were unprotected to
a certain extent with regards to the latest legislation. Our contracts have since been revised by Carolyne at
Golf HR.
“Golf HR came through recommendation through affiliation with the Golf Managers Association, Carolyne
did a presentation at one of our seminars. Following from the seminar she came to our region and several
people recommended her.
“We were looking to see where we were regarding employment law as we have had various issues related
to staffing and contracts, we nearly ended up with a tribunal case about a year and a half ago, so we
required mediation. Hopefully this situation will never arise again. The risk element of the company
crossing swords with any of our staff should now never happen,
giving us comfort and peace of mind.
“Long term we use Golf HR to make us more secure and fend things
off without having the problems. We decided to get involved with
someone who could give us a service and backup on a regular basis.
“Now we have the basic products in place I will use the consultation
time as part of our contract just to touch base in case anything
changes, and the next big thing that will hit us is the pension rollout.
Making sure we hit the right marks with regard to that.”
“Sometimes employees may have a few concerns when contracts are being rewritten, but Golf HR are here
to help staff of every level with their queries and disputes.”
“A few questions were raised when they asked why we were rewriting contracts, people are very wary
when they are asked to re-sign a document, but now they have looked into it and I’ve explained the
situation that it helps not only ourselves but also them with more detail, more coverage and more
knowledge. It was then all accepted quite well.”
“All of my direct employees have benefitted. There was an issue with regards to our contracts that weren’t
cleverly written, so these have been revised.”
When asked if Golf HR had been beneficial in saving him time and stress, Pinner Hill’s Manager Alan
Findlater was under no illusions; “Without a doubt!”
